I love this doctor. In fact, I am paying out of network just to continue to be under his care. He delivered my son in January, and has a wonderful bedside manner. I appreciate everything he and his staff did for me. I do not believe him to be harsh as other comments suggest, but he does respond to warm and educated patients. He encouraged me to educate myself and answered any questions I had.

This guy was SO rude to me at my visit that I switched doctors. Being new to the area, I had to bring my two-year old with me to an appointment that required no examination. He made an obnoxious comment about not being able to hear me over my son's voice, who was not being loud or unruly. This was a horrible experience for me, and I'm not a "doc jumper" at all.

Dr. Smith-O'Brien did not take time to get to know me or my situation. I had two miscarriages while under his care, both with a D&C (not his fault), but the next time I came in to see him I heard him ask the nurse if I was a new patient. I really felt that by that time he should have known my name.

My grandson was born while this doctor was in Oklahoma. He was blue, not breathing a without oxygen for over 5 minutes. I am a nurse and asked him what happened and told the child's father. This quack reprimanded me for informing the child's father. The boy is now 12 and has seizures and neurological problems directly related to his birth. DO NOT LET HIM DELIVER YOUR CHILD!!!!!

WONDERFUL doctor- very knowledgeable. Is hilarious but you'll have to pay attention! Nurses are warm and friendly. Dr. Smith-O is a cross between Bill Nigh the Science Guy and Mr. Rogers. I ended up having to have a C-section and he walked me thru each step. I stayed 1 wk in the hospital and he came to do rounds at LEAST 4 days of my stay. And was there Christmas Eve morning to check up! I'll use him forever if I can!

Sometimes he comes off as a little harsh, but overall he is a very good doctor. Always willing to sit and answer any questions that you have. Been through a lot with this doctor and trust him to make the best decisions for me.

I took someone with me to the exam as a second opinion, and we both agreed changing doctors was right for me.
