Very experienced, caring and obviously loves her profession! Gave me her card and told me I could email her any time of the day or night. Staff are friendly and efficient. My entire family sees her. Highly recommended!

Dr. Monea went beyond her duties to help my daughter who has multiple sclerosis. She gave us information on avenues to pursue with regards to new treatments for MS, which has caused my daughter's eyesight to rapidly deteriorate. She is very accommodating and took the time to answer all of our questions. I would recommend Dr. Monea to anyone.

Exams with Dr. Monea always seem rushed; she pressures me into choosing my answers quickly. Then it feels like she ignores my responses, because she thinks she already knows what my prescription should be. I find her manner very patronizing and off-putting. To top it off, I'm unhappy with my last pair of glasses. I wanted them for close-up reading, but they are too strong. I'm really having trouble getting used to them. Faced with a choice between the old and new pair, I prefer the old ones: so, $1000 down the drain. The selection of frames is not large, and heavily emphasizes costly designer frames. They up-sell hard for the expensive coatings, based on the latest "scientific" reports. Don't expect any two-for-one deals, either. My husband is unhappy with his last pair of glasses, as well. For similar reasons. We have been going to her for years, but we've both reached the breaking point. We won't be back.

I recently moved to Calgary and went to the Kensington office because it was close to my home. I found Dr. Monea to be the most entertaining and caring doctor I have ever met. I brought my baby girl with me and her staff played with her as I was being tested by some machines before seeing Dr. Monea. She had more advanced and through equipment than any optometrist I have ever been too and I was very impressed. Although I didn’t need glasses (still young haha) I was introduced to one extra cost which was her OCT. I had an eye injury in my twenties and it produced an in depth look at the state of my retina. I had undergone MANY eye surgeries and it was reassuring to know what my retina actually looks like today.

I have Keratoconus and had problems of vision in one eye and went to Dr Mornea for advice. After being told I had to be on time, my family (with two young children) were kept waiting for 1.25 hours before being seen. Following the results of Retina scan I was advised (as a matter of urgency0 to see specialist and have a Corneal Collagen Cross linking operation. With my Keratonacus not having changed for 12 years, i sought a second opinion before progressing with this intrusive operation. The advice was that based on my history, the contact were giving good vision and base don my age, it was NOT advised to progress with the operation, because of the potential complications. I was NOT impressed with the service and i would have thought that she would advised to come back at leats before deferring me.

This is the WORST doctor I have ever seen. Her staff were mopey and sad and her office was a mess. When I got into her office for my exam, she brushed me off and tried to make me buy expensive glasses. I will never go to see her again!!!!

After an exam I have been strongly recommended to purchace very expensive high-quality miracle type of glasses. I swallowed the bait, however the glasses don't work the way they were advertised

She is the most unethical doctor I have ever had. Very incompetent! She only cares about making money of her patients and does not care to take the time and diagnose any health issues. She was rude to my wife and I and kept telling us to get new glasses. I had to go for a second opinion myself, because I had suspicions that something was wrong and a retina tear was discovered in my eye and I had to have emergency retina surgery to save my vision. Do not trust this doctor!

They basically wanted me to give them $105.00 to tell me to go to a specialist. If you walk into their office they make you take an eye exam that you really do not need. It was a waste of time and money to say the least. This was the Kensington office in Calgary, Ab.
