I sought his opinion on one occasion and elected to find services with another podiatrist for surgical needs. Years later thought I would give him another try with a family member since the knowledgeable podiatrist I had used was then retired. Again, elected not to use Dr. Schryack. His knowledge and/or interest was not nearly as extensive . Difficult to report, but unfortunately he wasn't able to fulfill our needs.

Douglas W. Schreyack DPM 3609 SW Durham Dr, Durham, NC 27707 Podiatrist I certainly did NOT have a good experience with foot surgery with this Doctor. I can't and would definitely NOT recommend this doctor for any surgery. The primary appointment went well as I went in for major pain in my big toe. He told me that he could fuse the joint and I would be pain free !! On the 2nd and 3rd visits he looked further at my other toes and told me that he could shorten 2 toes and straighten the other two toes, (that had always bothered me) as well as the surgery on the big toe, all at the same time. He said he would put temporary pins in all the toes which he did at the time of the operation. I went back and he took the cast off very quickly and did NOT listen to me when I told him twice that he was hurting me. Then he ripped the bandage off that was stuck with dried blood. No big deal, BUT after he took the pins out and the bandage off I saw my foot was NOT fixed and 3 of the 5 toes were in much worse shape AND were in pain AND 8 months later, are still not only numb to the touch, but are still in very much constant pain !! 2 toes are still crooked, one worse than it was prior to surgery, the other exactly the same, BUT with pain now and all feeling as they are asleep and numb. He did shorten one toe, but somehow messed up my toenail. He did NOT shorten the other toe and now that one is turned to the right which it never did before and IS in constant pain. The big toe was the only "sucess", but he botched that one too as it turns left into the other toe that now turns right, and they always collide everytime I squeeze them into any shoes I own. I also bought 2 new pair that still aren't comfortable on my surgery foot. Everytime I have gone back for follow up visits, I get xrays. He glances at them and says everything looks fine. The last time I went, I complained of heavy and constant pain. He looked at my foot and yanked all the toes and said that "we could redo the surgery" When I said no thanks, he ended up giving me cortisone shots in 2 of the toes to help with the pain. That helped for about 3 weeks. I am definitely NOT happy. and deal with pain fairly well, BUT he permanently hurt my body, and said he could try to redo the surgery to see if we could improve this. I am obviously seeking ANOTHER surgeon to see if there is anything that can be done to make the pain disapate. I now see that my surgeon's reviews have not been good at all in the last year and he is clearly going through something. I feel he would be doing his patients a favor by taking a long break until he is ready to get back on track. Do your homework before having surgery !! I wish I had and I may have a better life right now. If 0 stars was an option .... Good luck.

Extremely unfriendly, rude and obnoxious. He appeared to not want to deal with me and he insulted me by calling me lazy.

Not friendly at all. I visited this quack for over 4 months. When I would explain issues to him he would ignore me. He continued to allow me to soak my feet during the entire period of visits which is a major flaw when dealing with Diabetic Ulcers. The only thing he did was trimmed the callouses and drained the sores a couple of times. Told me several times that my feet were getting better when they were not. Visited his office since December 2014 until April 2015 and finally decided to send me to wound center after he realized he was just wasting my time and money for the co-pays and raping my Medicare card. Doctors are the ones today who are abusing Medicare not the patients!!! Something needs to be done about this!!!

I have seen Dr. Schreyack three times for a Morton's neuroma problem. I had good communication with him per use of orthotics, NSAIDS, temporary use of prednisone versus surgery. He gave me as much time as I needed to consider all alternatives. I found him to be professional and to the point. The staff are professional and friendly as well.

Very rude doctor and just a waste of time. I drove 4 hours to see him because of a recommendation and waiting over almost an hour for him to come in the room for 5 minutes and tell me pretty much nothing. When he came in, he was very rude, would not listen to me explain what was wrong, & continually cut me off. I guess he had xray eyes, because he acted as if he already knew. I dislike when a doctor says "I think" instead of trying to find the problem. Don't waste your time or money.
