Hanspaul Makkar did Mohs surgery on a basal cell carcinoma on my scalp. It had been months since the original biopsy was reported as cancerous. In the meantime my dermatologist had given me a cream to apply to the lesion. As it turned out, he removed a very large piece of my scalp, only to discover that there were NO cancer cells present in the tissue he removed. My dermatologist's cream was supremely effective, however I did not know that at the time. If he had only repeated the lab test I would not have required any surgery! I then had to go to a plastic surgeon to try to close the hole Dr Makkar had created. This surgery was only partially successful, and I have a large bald spot on the top of my head, where hair no longer grows. As a woman it is truly unsightly, and I do blame Dr Makkar for not taking a conservative approach and having another biopsy done. Another point I'd like to make is that during the procedure he was very dismissive and condescending. I was happy to get out of there. The staff were nice, but I would not recommend him to anyone.

I have complete confidence in Dr. Makkar professional abilities. Unfortunately, I have had Mohs surgery three times on my face and Dr. Makkar and his staff has always been totally professional. Just last week was my third surgery. The results of my two surgeries are remarkable as there is basically no scarring and I am sure this will hold true this time. I would recommend Dr. Makkar to everyone.

Excellent doctor and great with children. I brought my young son there for a consult and the doctor performed a necessary biopsy. My son was totally at ease for the procedure as I did not know what to expect. Follow up with doctor was excellent and I highly recommend him.

Not the most personable. Also, wanted me to schedule up to 3 unnecessary appointments. Got a second opinion and it turns out I didn't have to do anything. Would have wasted a lot of money and time if I had listened to him. I'm sure he's great for other things but this was my experience.

Dr. Makkar was very friendly and very professional. He removed a melanoma and the procedure required my returning a second day for more excision or closing, depending on test results. He and his entire staff were so helpful and put me at ease. He even called the evening of the surgery to make sure I was alright. His nurses explained aftercare procedures and made everything much easier than it could have been. All in all, the entire office made a terrifying ordeal seem very manageable.

Hanspaul was unable to help my son with the particular skin problem he was having, which is fine; however, instead of recomending a plastic surgeon (who would have been able to help my son) he continued to have my wife and I come inorder to "monitor" his condition. The whole time he never did anything to help the condition go away. Eventually we realized he was only having us come in so that he could collect our insurance. He was rarely anything less than condiscending and rude, I only regret it took us so long to figure out what he was doing.

Dr. Makkar was absolutely wonderful. On time, kind, great staff, made me feel welcome and my scar is barely noticible. I would recommend him to everyone.

Words cannot express how impressed I was with Dr. Makkar. I am not impressed easily, so take my word that he is top notch! Very professional, took time to see me, very little wait time before seeing him, polite staff, great follow up and of course a great surgeon. My scaring was minimal and hardly noticeable. Would recommend him anyone. BTW, he is wicked smart too!! He truly knows his stuff.
