I'm shocked to read the negative comments! My waiting times were shorter than at many doctor's offices. Dr. Makkar is exceedingly professional, very skilled and intelligent. It was obvious to me that he sincerely cares about his patients. My consultation was not rushed, we discussed everything completely. He described the procedure carefully (slow Mohs on my cheek for melanoma) and took care to calm my nerves both before and during surgery. I never had a single moment of pain during or even after surgery, which surprised me (well, except when the nurse administered the local - no getting away from that). He followed up after surgery personally. His staff was also incredibly kind. I really can't stress strongly enough how positive my experience with Dr. Makkar was. I recommend him without reservation. (I'm not that easy to please, either.)

You cannot go wrong with this Doctor. He performed a biopsy on my 6 year old daughter and then was honest enough to refer us elsewhere for further surgery yet followed-up with us after the other Dr. performed this additional surgery. His follow-up was top notch regarding the biopsy and the results. He took a tremendous amount of time on his own cell phone to explain our options while on his way home. When we did have a question after hours and he was not on-call he was tracked down and called us. I canot say enough wonderful things about this man. I trusted my young daughter to his care and now my husband will be his patient as well.

I am a patient, not an employee. Dr Makkar was extremely pleasant, slightly sarcastic (which I encouraged) and very knowledgeable. Both he and the staff were very concerned about my comfort. The personal follow-up phone call was the clincher for great 'customer service'! The was a very unpleasant event made ordinary and as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend.

Very rushed doctor and very disfiguring scar. I wished I would have not chosen UCHC. There is a great Moh's surgeon across the street - Dr. Chartier who did a much better job on my first skin cancer

I had Mohs surgery with Dr. Makkar for a malignant melanoma on my cheek. He called me the night of surgery to make sure I wasn't in pain and that I didn't have any bleeding. He then called me - himself - to tell me the results of my biopsy. He saved my life. He was a really nice guy, and you can tell he cares. I did have to wait about an hour for my surgery, but now you can't even see my scar, so I don't really care that I had to wait. I wish other doctors (including my deramtologist) would learn from his bedside manner. This man saved my life. He saved my life.

I went in for a procedure nervous and did not know what to expect. Dr. Makkar's staff made me feel welcome, comfortable and safe while Dr. Makkar performed his procedure on me. My scar is barely noticeable and I am truly blessed that I found such a wonderful and experiences MOHS surgeone. Thank you Dr. Makkar!!!

I was debating whether to right anything, but wanted somehow to warn people not to see this doctor. I cant possibly understand who would have written nice things about him(other than himself.) He was extremely tardy and very rude and condescending. His office staff never checked on me when I was sitting in the exam room for over an hour. No glass of water, magazine and definitely no apology for the wait. His demeanor was of an spoiled and arrogant child. He was technically very slow and had an unsightly scar around my eye which I had to have a plastic surgeon fix.

Very condescending poor bedside manner. His nurses kept apologizing for his behaviour. He must have written all the other responses on this site himself, because I know he had a waiting room full of unhappy customers(he actually refers his patients to customers!!)

Also waited over 2 hours to be seen despite my arriving early. Not even the slightest apology. Very arrogant.
