WARNING: Dr Mester was aggressive, impatient and inappropriately stern with my 17 year old daughter during our first (and only) visit to him to have her nose cauterized for nosebleeds. Having endured the procedure periodically over the years (NOT by Dr Mester), she and I are both very familiar with the process; it is not pleasant, but not terribly painful and takes only a few minutes.

After an amiable introduction, he abruptly snapped and became shockingly cruel and sadistically rough. As instructed, she sat very still and when a single tear fell from her eye, he demanded that she stop crying because "it doesn't hurt!!!". The violent way he held her nose as she hyperventilated, was truly barbaric and sickening. She suffers from extreme panic/anxiety attacks which I clearly explained, but he continued to verbally berate her as he forcefully held and squeezed her nose so hard that she COULD NOT BREATHE. She was left traumatized and very, very, very bruised. He was merciless and unstoppable.

Upon completion of the procedure, he then spoke to me with a disturbingly condescending tone and for some absolutely insane reason, I simply and shamefully said “thank you”. I was in shock. It’s now one day later and I am seething over the experience. This doctor needs to be seriously investigated before being allowed to continue practicing medicine. We trust doctors for their knowledge, experience, expertise and compassion and are thankful for their years of schooling and practice to offer the best care available. Dr Mester’s inhumane method and lack of empathy is a black stain on the medical profession and Sanum Clinic should be repentant for his behavior.

Personally, I am not one to write many reviews and am STUNNED to see ANY positive ones for this man. Had there been a way to pull him away from her and run - I would have done so immediately.

Excellent doctor changed my life. He pointed out that acid reflex was causing all of my problems. Once I took his advice I went from getting weekly and monthly sinus infections to only getting one maybe once a year and that would to happen as long as I would follow his advice . It happen if I did not take my acid reflex medication.

I saw Dr. Mester and he was very to the point but gave me a diagnosis that was not even close to the first doctor I saw ( down south) and it made perfect sense. I can see how sensitive people or people who haven't worked around doctors might take him the wrong way. The bottom line to me is he is very intelligent and knows what he's doing and that's most important - I would rather have an arrogant doctor who knows what's going on rather that a nice one who doesn't.

Dr. Mester was quite upset when I saw him 8/35/19 for a followup after being diagnosed wth thrush at Sansum Urgent Care some 10 days previously. He demanded to know why I had made an appt with him. I replied Sansum Urgent Care referred me to him to verify the antibiotics they had prescribed had been effective in treating the thrush infection. He promptly told me I didn't have thrush, that I never had thrush and the lab tests were negative for thrush. I stated that was what Sansum had determined. Repeat of "didn't have thrush, never had thrush, lab results were negative several times each time louder than the last. I finally told I wasn't going to argue. That put him a on a new tack, "What are your symptoms, how do you feel, why was I there?" I told him I had taken antibiotics for thrush and wanted an exam to determine .... Mistake! Repeat of "Don't have, never had" routine but yelling this time. Since he seemed to to be strggling in English, I tried my favorite phrase in Spanish. He said he doesn't speak Spanish. I said I don't speak German but I will translate the phrase to English, "More work, less talking!" He became somewhat subdued and asked what I wanted him to do. we finally agreed on a vsual exam of the esophagus. Neg fortunately. BTW, the reason lab tests were negative for thrush is NO lab tests for thrush were ordered. It is so easy to diagnose by visual exam of the tongue and mouth, lab tests are rarely, if ever, ordered. I walked out of his office smiling. Why? I realized once more the futility of engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

Awful doctor! He wouldn’t listen to anything I said. He kept cutting me off mid sentence then would scold me for not telling him my history. How was I supposed to when he kept cutting me off? I have never left a doctor appointment mad until the appointment with him. He was awful!

Dr. Mester is a horrible man. He ignored everything I said and performed unnecessary surgery on me, and it did not help my situation. He was rude and cold. Everyone working there loves him because of his cute accent but don't let that fool you, he doesn't give a sheet about his patients. If I had more money I would have taken him to court for malpractice. AVOID this man.

Dr Andrew Mester is a rude, judgemental man. He does not explain procedures and has no regard for patient comfort. I went in to his office with my son in hopes that he could help figure out why his childhood ear problems were still present at 19 years old! After my son explained his history & told him about the extreme pain he was in, the doctor proceeded to use the device to suction out the puss. My son was in so much pain that tears started streaming down his face. Dr Mesters response was the "The procedure did not warrant that kind of reaction and behavior". The doctor wanted to do a sinus cavity procedure next but I was afraid to allow him to. We told the doctor that we would be leaving and seeking treatment elsewhere. He said ok, but the reason why my son had chronic ear problems was due to long time use of abusing alcohol and drugs!!! I was flabbergasted! We had to remind the doctor that he has had this problem since he was one year old and was not a drug or alcohol abuser! It was truly the most horrible medical experience I have ever witnessed.
