It felt like he went out of his way to be abusive and sadistic. Extremally unpleasant character.

After suffering for so long, I was extremely disappointed with the terrible care, insulting remarks, and dismissive attitude of Dr. Wouter Schievink. The positive reviews are a shock to me. So many of us in the CSF leak community have not had a positive outcome with Schievink. I wish I could say I did but unfortunately it was terrible.

You will notice in the reviews that Dr Schievink tends to get a 5 or a 1. So, do you feel lucky? Go ahead and roll the dice and cross your fingers that you get Dr Jekyll the compassionate healer, because I certainly got Mr Hyde, the rude arrogant mocking sarcastic dismissive challenging discouraging insulting alter ego. I had such high hopes after 20 years of severe pain and illness . I guess I was one of the financial fillers they slot in to pay bills and allow Mr Hyde to exercise his demons. IMHO, Go to Stanford or Mayo or North Carolina.

I would think Dr Schievink is one of those doctors who doesn't risk taking on highly complex patients who he knows he may not be able to help . At first, he and his medical team appeared very keen to help, but when they discovered how many head surgeries I'd already had, everything went totally silent, & I could no longer get a response from anyone.

Dr. Schievink and his team were very responsive when I approached him for a consultation. Overall, I had mixed experience with Dr. Schieveink's staff (one of his PAs, Rachelle, was horribly rude to me on two occasions). The in-patient experience was wonderful including post op care by the nursing staff. I suffered complications from the surgery and my fascia and muscles were not likely stitched up well (according to my physical therapist and acupuncturist). I felt the team didn't listen to all of my symptoms and I may have to have a revision.

Dr. Schievink is a very kind and highly skilled surgeon. He repaired my csf leak via surgery. He is humorous and humble. I implicitly trust him and his team.

Stay away from this cruel, arrogant man. I'd recommend literally anyone else. This man knowingly allowed me to deteriorate.

Very confident Doctor and when your getting Brain surgery, you definitely want that. I had a Tumor in 2009 . He handled it. No problems. I'm doing great thus far. Very thankful.
