I tried one failed cycle in a Chicago Clinic and flew to Ohio to see her for a second opinion. I chose her for a second opinion because I saw her once before I moved to Chicago and at that time, she thought my case was promising. After seeing my cancelled cycle in Chicago, She also claimed I had to use donor eggs and that was my only hope. I expressed my desire to use my own egg and try other protocols but she said she had no other protocol to try with me and I won’t succeed anyway. She kept saying how much financial burden and emotional stress I would have if I tried using my own egg regardless of that I also kept telling her I had insurance to cover at least 6 times of IVF and I had a strong mind to have my own child. I was so desperate after seeing her and began to seek IVF with donor egg information. Fortunately, I give up the thought of using a donor egg. Now I have a 21-month old daughter from IVF using my own egg in another Clinic located in New York with 6 frozen embryos banked. Later I had a 3-month old who is conceived naturally and unexpectedly. It will be really regretted if I would listen to her and use a donor egg. This is also why I still want to post a review here even years passed because I cannot stop thinking about the scenario that if I had a kid using a donor egg and then my own naturally, and I am afraid that I would not treat them fairly.

Dr. Austin is the only one who gave me a completely painless HSG and also the only one who gave me successful embryo transfers along with adjusting another doctor’s protocol which gave me my babies. I HIGHLY recommend her!

My initial bloodwork showed that iui would not have worked, but we were not told that. We wasted a year of trying to get pregnant and lost valuable time with my aging eggs. Another clinic looked at my Cleveland Clinic bloodwork and said we have to try invitro. At the Cleveland Clinic, we waited months in between appointments and were left in limbo. This should not be the case. Listen to the negative reviews and decide if it is worth the risk.

I had a great experience with Dr. Austin, over a period of YEARS trying to find comparable ways for me to conceive (that fit into my budget). She was never rude, she is however direct, honest and factual. You won't get led into a fair tale because there's not always a happy ending! We communicated a lot through email but in times where a phone call was more appropriate for sensitive discussions, she seemed very caring. Her staff was very caring & polite. Overall a wonderful experience which i'm thankful to have my 3yr old as the outcome.

She is a very rude and uncaring person. She doesn't try to understand her patients, she dose not care what they have to say and she lack emotion and compassion for her patients. I would never ever refer someone to her and I was very unhappy with my experience with her.

My experience with her has been mixed, though overall worth continuing. She can seem a little rough around the edges and has said some insensitive things, but on the other hand I think she realizes it and then makes amends. She is very compassionate on the inside, and that does become evident as you get to know her better. Positives: she uses topical lidocaine on the cervix for hysterosalpingograms rather than letting you squirm in agony, which to me is the mark of a higher level doctor. She never rushes in answering questions and spends a lot of time on the phone, which is unreimbursed time as far as I know. She is also very data-driven in her answers to questions which helps a lot with decision making.
