Truly an exceptional doctor or rather surgeon. Expert in his field, knowledgeable and fact based. I wish even 10 percent of doctors were as good as him. After performing a rather large and complex surgery I know that the extension on my life was directly because of him. You are in good hands.

My procedure was not urgent by any means but it was bothering me and after much drama at other places, I was able to see Dr. Stirling promptly. He was able to assess the issue in ten minutes and in another ten minutes performed the operation efficiently with no drama at all. I am most grateful to him and all the staff and St Joe's Hospital. The quality of service and care was outstanding especially in the light of this so called pandemic. Thank you once again.

Just as the old adage says - A Jack of all trades is a master of none. He does ALL the surgeries in Elliot Lake, Doesn't matter what it is... amputations to colonoscopies. Great income living in EL!

Dr. MJ Sterling is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the finest doctor I have ever met. He's compassionate, highly intelligent, exceptionally experienced, a great listener (so darn rare these days) and very organized. If you'll pardon the pun, he's a "Sterling" example of what/who all other medical professionals should strive to emulate. As commented on below, we are Blessed to have him in Elliot Lake. He's is our very own version of Captain "Hawkeye" Pierce!

Comparatively speaking Dr Michael Stirling in my opinion is the leading role model for how Doctors hould carry themselves going about their practice. He is knowledgeable, friendly, as timely as time permits given the nature of health care. He includes you in your diagnosis as opposed to speaking "at you". I also appreciated how he give best case/ worst case scenarios, and a balanced approached to attending to the issue at hand. I have experienced health care in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, in some of Canada most well renowned hospitals.....without a doubt Dr. Stirling ranks amongst the best physicians going. This area is very lucky indeed to have this quality of health care, it is rare indeed.
