I agree with the commenter below 100%. He IS extremely empathetic and caring in a truly sincere way (not put on) and conservative with drugs. He ultimately helped me with my chronic insomnia, though it took a long time to figure it out. Also, when I had problems with my primary care Dr. (who was either incompetent from age or something worse), Dr. Pines recommended other doctors. He is most definitely NOT on a power trip at all like many people who become shrinks (mostly people who are feeling miserable from their childhoods and then want to lord it over other people to gain back a sense of power). All in all, Dr. Pines is a truly great person and asset who has made a meaningful, positive difference in my life.

Professional, kind, empathetic, competent. Conservative with drugs. Unlike many who go into the psych field, he is not in it for a power trip but there to help.
