I’ve been around hospitals and doctors for almost 2 decades with my chronic illness. I recently had an ERCP performed by Dr Barkun. He is probably the most professional and sympathetic doctor I’ve ever encountered. His nurse talked so highly of him and now first hand I completely understand why! My hat off to a great Doctor!!

I feel more than lucky and most privileged to have been treated by Dr Barkun on Auust 27, 2019. My impression was that I had been entrusted to the care of a physician possessed of the utmost competence and skill during the two difficult procedures he performed with success. Moreover, any anxiety I felt was dispelled by the care and compassion he demonstrated throughout. I cannot speak too highly of Dr. Barkun and despite my fear of doctors look forward to being treated by him again.

Nice doctor, but his care is not to my satisfaction. He did not come to see me after my endoscopy. A decent doctor would have just dropped by for a minute to tell me about the results. Trying to reach his clinic is simply a nightmare. It's a source of immense stress when you are in agonizing pain and trying to get an appointment. He has the worst secretary in the entire Quebec medical system. That woman has a chip on her shoulder. I really wish the MGH would do something about her.

Dr. Barkun is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, one of the nicest doctors I've ever met! Unfortunately, his secretary steals from him - very unorganised person, loses test results, and it's almost impossible to reach Dr. Barkun via phone.
