Saw Dr. Appiah for a spot on my face. After waiting quite a while to get it, Dr. Appiah took one look at the spot on my face- and not closely- and said that it should be cut off. I didn't want the scar and declined. I then visited another dermatologist who examined the spot carefully, said that it was pre-cancerous and burned it off. No scar, and no reoccurance of this problem. I won't be back to see Dr. Appiah.

We waited an hour and a half to get in and no apology-- this after she cancelled our original appointment for illness, and didn't reschedule for 3 weeks! My son has severe acne, so we did not like to wait. She prescribed medication for my son that cost $1000 for 30 days, and even with insurance, it was over $150 out-of-pocket. When I called and requested a generic, she never returned my call. I'm finding a new dermatologist.

My husband and I are so very pleased with Dr. Appiah. She has diagnosed and "fixed" problems that other dermatologists could not figure out. I went through 3 dermatologists before finding Dr. Appiah, who I consider very knowledgeable with a great bedside manner.

I have been going to dr. appiah for years now and find that she is both very pleasant and knowledgable of my problems. My family goes to her also and find her delightful. She has a wonderful bedside manner and seems like she cares about us. Her staff is wonderful also and her office is very nice to be in.

My experience was one of waiting for one hour to see Dr. Appiah and when I did she was neither helpful nor professional. Her reply to the fact that I waited an hour, was "So why did you wait?" She was not at all interested in my possibly cancerous skin problem; instead she merely looked at it and pronounced it non cancerous.

Well, i love Dr. Appriah. She helped me immensely with my alopecia areata. she told me to stop stressing and go to the gym to work off any stress that made my hair fall out. anyway, she gave me the cortizon shots in the head -- can you imagine -- not the most beautiful picture but she made the experience most comfortable. i saw her two years straight and each time my hair grew back. i've been handling my stress better and--knock on wood--i haven't had to see her since last year-then i turned my stress over to God. i always wanted an early morning appointment -- first thing in the morning so i could get to work in a timely fashion. there was always a patient or two in the office but any wait -- which was minimal really -- allowed me a moment to relax and collect my thoughts. the office staff was fine for having to deal with folks so early in the morning. i would recommend highly. and her professionalism is warm and friendly -- even while she's shooting your head with needles!

Dr. Appiah appeared technically proficient, and her staff should be commended for scheduling an appointment on short notice. Nevertheless, the office environment struck me as a "see as many people in as short a time as possible" operation. I arrived 5 min. early for my mid-afternoon appointment, waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes, waited another 30 minutes in the exam room, was interviewed by the assistant 3x, then met with the doctor for a total of 4 minutes (2 1/2 min. for the exam, 1 1/2 min. for two mole removals). At no time did the doctor evince any personal interest in me, nor was there much eye contact I felt like one piece of meat on the assembly line. She did answer my questions, but in a manner akin to, "This is the 1000th time Ive answered this." I then waited another 25 minutes before being told I had to pay the whole cost of the office visit (> $300) up front and that I would have to then resolve the issue with my insurance company.

Long waits, but she turned out to be very helpful. She has a great bed-side manner, warm and opening.

I went to Dr. Appiah in a hairloss crisis. I found her very knowledgable about my condition and the treatments. The scalp injections I received were painless and she had a great bedside manner through the ordeal. I found her warm and caring. I learned that it was best to get the first appointment of the day because they always had long waits. Not sure if that is her fault or the office personnel?
