Ratings for Inovaalexandria
Husband got blood clots and c. Difficile(hospital-acquired infection because of inadequate sanitation of equipment and staff hand-washing) at this hospital while receiving in-patient chemo. Half of the nursing/tech staff barely speak English. Thank goodness I had some medical training - I witnessed, and reported incidences where proper nursing technique was not utilized and had to point it out. Then there were just a handful of truly wonderful, caring nurses who went above and beyond. We would never go to Alexandria again, however, because of the 2 hospital acquired conditions my husband had to suffer with in addition to the cancer he was being treated for. Go to Leapfrog and CMS (Medicare) for their eye-opening ratings. We'll use INOVA Fair Oaks if needed in the future.
Sometimes you have to wait quite a while. While I can overlook that, much of the staff often don't even acknowledge you unless you are in their face and force them to recognize you. Some of the staff just act as if they would be happier if we (the customers) weren't there to put such a bother upon them. That is not all of them though. I do understand there are bad apples everywhere but, I was in the military and having those hospitals to contrast with, in my mind, I would often go with the military... At least I know why most of those folks don't want to talk to me.. ha ha
