Very poor doctor. He has no time for you. They run their practice like a meat market. Just get to the next piece of meat for the money. He just wants to get you out of there to get to the next patient. He is always late and running to get to the next person. He does not spend more than 10 min no matter what the problem. He has no familiarity with you because you are just a number or dollar sign to him. He made it very clear the last visit when he said "I would have to spend more time to diagnose your problem and I have too many patients to spend that much time. I do not make any money if I spend more than 10 min on any patient.” These were his actual words. Unfortunately I heard about his poor services from a number of people after I changed over to him. I will be looking for new doctor.

Firstly it must be pointed out that Dr. Sockolov is my mother's doctor, not my own as I live out of state. However, my mother received a phone call this morning wherein the office staffer (and not Dr. Sockolov himself) informed her of her cancer diagnosis. Unless informing patients of a devastating diagnosis over the telephone and not in person has become standard protocol, I believe this to be highly unprofessional, irresponsible and cold-hearted. Shame on this office for leaving my mother in tears and with no information on how to proceed with treatment...

I have to say that he is a nice enough man, but nice doesn't fly when you are misdiagnosed twice for two seperate elments including a tumor. He kept delaying an MRI even when I explained my symptoms and concerns. When he eventually authorized the MRI behold there was the tumor. He is great if you have a cold you need antibiotics for, of if you need blood work done, but this was over the top. He also misdiagnosed a mole on my skin that turned out to be serious. I am not a medical expert but I am an expert in me, and I knew something was wrong. He needs to listen to his patients more and not downplay things. Prior to my last set of visits, I had only been to his office approximately 7-8 times in 17 years. I am not a drama person.

For starters, I've never received any followup notification after two x-rays. Two ailments were carelessly misdiagnosed and I was simply referred to physical therapy, which did not work. He seems nice, but it was tough to tell if he was really listening to my issues. It felt like he wanted to get me out as quickly as possible. Yes he has the reputation, but in my visits I never received anything but subpar treatment. Will be seeking another doctor out.

Very good office. Dr. Alvin does a good job of referring to a Specialist whenever needed. This is a great improvment compared to 8 years ago when he would almost never refer. He has come a long way and I would not change him for the world.

I have been coming to Dr. Alvin since I was 3 years old (23 years). I also have chosen him to care for my 4 children. I trust him with my life and that of my children's. He is always caring and errors on the side of caution, which may seem repetative for the patient, but is better for you in the long run. I have and continue to refer him to everyone.

Dr. Sockolov (I've seen Alvin) is the best doctor I've ever been to, hands down. No unnecessary medications, ever, and he really LISTENS. He also cares about his patients, and is truly concerned with our well-being. Also, his receptionist referred me to tbe best OB ever, Dr. Burman. It just can't get any better than that!
