Dr. Cohen is extremely kind and never rushes you out the door. He always takes the time to listen and has no problems referring to a Specialist. He is extremely thorough and has been an excellent GP for my family. For the first time ever, I feel like I have a GP that looks after my entire family. He is wonderful.

Terrible listener. Not willing to provide any referrals to specialists. Unwilling to prescribe so I ended up going to a walk-in clinic who gave me a script. No wonder he is the only doctor in BC taking new patients !!!

He never listened to what I had to say, either he would say the symptom is normal and ignore it or try to prescribe some medication without letting me finished my sentence. With this attitude he made me feel like a "thing" instead of a patient that supposely should be treated by the doctor. I'm very happy that I found myself and family a new family doctor that listen and most of all, that is INTERESTED in what I have to say.

I used to have Dr. Spangell in the same office where Cohen now is... I have been experiencing extreme stomach problems with extreme diharrea.. this was a problem for my because it would spring up at random times almost every day. I first went to the clinic and the doctor there told me to take some test which would be sent to Dr. Cohen.. I went to Dr. Cohen for the results and he said nothing was out of the ordinary and dismissed my problem saying you have an irritable bowel. This wasn't much help because he never gave me a solution to my problem. I am still facing the same problems.

I have been with Dr. Cohen for over 4 years and can't really say a good word about him. Particularly the last 18 months since I have several physical problems he has failed many times to help or even diagnose any of my problems. No referral either after asking several times. He always says it needs time. Once has squeezed the hell out of an infection (without washing his hands, no gloves) and it got worse after that. General check-up was a mess. No referrals, no diagnosis, no action . . . folks, avoid this doctor.

Dr. Cohen was my family doctor during my pregnancy. I found that he tends to be dismissive of complaints. He did not listen to my concerns regarding my pregnancy and I ended up in hospital with a threat of pre-term labour 24 hours after he told me that my symptoms were normal. I continued to use his as my doctor for my son. Once again, he was dismissive of concerns and makes me feel like an over anxious mother. I kept him on due to the lack of option in BC but I have now moved on to another GP through a referral from a friend.

Dr. Cohen has been our family GP for 4 months now. We are very pleased with the level of service he provides. He is caring and thorough and never makes you feel rushed to get out the door. He has helped my daughter out by taking the extra steps to test and consult with other doctors, he has helped both me and my husband tremendously. He makes appropriate referrals when necessary and acts quickly. I am glad he is our new GP.

While he seems to be a genuinely nice person, has a gentle manner and beautiful eyes, in practice is not useful at all -- doesn't like to make diagnosis himself and disdains symptoms, until patient ends up with hospital, repeatedly, and then under-medicates or mis-medicates. He doesn't have a good rep amongst specialists, who urged me to get another doctor. I did.

Very Poor , would not want him for a doctor ever again . I found him to favor younger patients , did not wish to deal with the older ones .
