Disappointed after years of being his patient. I have been with the practice since Drs Swikert were there and I was a teen. I have multiple, well documented conditions that he has refused to treat since I was diagnosed as bipolar in my mid 30's and which I recently found out through a specialist, he finally allowed a referral, has caused irreversible damage that could have been prevented with simple treatment. I am 51 now and may be looking at surgery and or invasive treatments for the rest of my life. Now he is refusing to treat me for something as basic as my IBS which, again, is well documented and I have been seen and scoped by my GI who sent orders for the medication to stay on until my next scheduled visit in 2 years. He has lost his compassion

I went to Dr. Gray with a sinus infection and sore knees. I am 59 years old and suspected arthritis. I had a funeral in Atlanta to attend the next week and wanted to make sure I got an antibiotic so I would be up to stress and travel. He checked for arthritis and confirmed it. He did not want to give me an antibiotic - said it wasn't "bad enough", but if it was worse in the next couple of days to call in. I asked if he could put in an order for an antibiotic, after I explained my situation, and he refused - said to call back in if I didn't feel better. I also asked if he could renew my maintenance anti-depressant (paxil) as the prescriptions had run out. He asked me a few questions and said he would renew it. I did not get better - got sicker - and when I called back in, they told me I had to come back in for another visit. I indicated that I was unwilling to pay for another visit (this is pre-covid 19 scare) and asked to have a prescription called in - no dice. I called Teledoc and got a prescription called in. Due to this delay - I got sick enough I didn't feel like travelling - so I missed my Cousin's funeral. Last week, I went to request my Paxil prescription and found out he had not sent in a renewal. I called and explained to the office and asked to have one 90 day supply called in - was told I had to do a $35 E-Visit. I have been going to this practice since I was a patient of Dr. Markesbery - back in the 80's. I have never been treated so dismissively or felt like it was a money grab as I did with this interaction. I won't be seeing Dr. Gray - he could look at my record and see I don't ask for or abuse antibiotics - I only take them when I need them - typically 1-2 a year. Not something exotic in this area - but I know my body and I know when allergies/cold progresses past that to an actual sinus infection. Terrible bedside manner and customer service - and I am a customer/consumer. Dr.'s Barth, Jones, Boolin, and Maryanne and Dottie are great.

I have been a patient for two years. I think he is the brightest doctor I have ever been to. He listens and explains. He seems to welcome questions and seems to honestly answer. I feel like a partner in my health care.
