Unless you are in the market for an arrogant jerk with a God complex, you should look elsewhere for a doctor.

You shouldn't have to chase down your doctor for months, to make sure they do their job. There is no followthrough, and he is walking out the door while your queries are still being verbalized, hence, you are left hanging. Am researching cardiologists associated with MUSC. Truly tired of pulling teeth to get some feedback, promised months ago. I'm a bonified cardiac patient. This is not something to be taken lightly. I first went to him because he had a five-star rating. Not sure how that was accomplished. Certainly not by his bedside manner.

I've seen Dr. Hanger twice and both times he dismissed me and my symptoms saying I am young and healthy. He was arrogant and very quick to rush through my appointment not giving me time to explain my symptoms. He talked into a dictaphone through my whole 5 minute long appointment and I left with no answers. No bedside manner and not a compassionate bone in his body. Would not go back to him.

I found him arrogant. His bedside manner is non-existent.

I had a heart at age 49 and several other incidents. I am now 76 and thanks to Dr. Hanger I still live with very few problems. He has been my cardiologist the entire time. He is knowledgeable and kind hearted. He is very respected by other professionals.

Highly skilled and well respected within medical community. He and his staff were very compassionate and took the time to answer all of my questions. I had a very dangerous heart condition occur suddenly. He was able to diagnose it and operate within 48 hours. He saved my life. I was awake throughout the procedure and he talked me through it step-by-step, explaining everything. The follow-up care and coordination with local hospitals, cardio therapy, nutrition, etc has been outstanding. Also, he uses all the latest computer technology for billing and medical records - no problems at all. Highest possible recommendation for cardio issues / heart surgery.

He may be good at what he does, but he is rude to the point he made me just want to cry. How can someone so smart be so ignorant of others feelings? He needs a new heart, one with compassion!
