Shockingly bigoted. Ended the appointment without a word when she realized I was transgender. (I wasn't even seeing her for anything to do with hormone care, i just made an appointment on Maple for a refill of a maintenance med because their website said they offered that.) At first I wondered if there was some reason why Maple couldn't help me so I requested a second appointment through Maple with the same information, but I was seen in five minutes by a different provider who gave me very prompt help, so I guess Dr. Luu just refuses to interact with trans people. Judging by all the bad reviews and my own experience, she seems like the kind of doctor who can only thrive when people don't have any better options (which seems like it was the case in a lot of places in Ontario even before Covid hit, sadly.)

Hi I just had a consultation to review my blood and ultrasound results with Dr Lien Luu. She was very condescending and just brushed me off. Offered nothing and said there's nothing maple can do, told me to go visit a family doctor instead. And then before the conversation was over when my last message was I'm in pain, she just ended the conversation/hung up. I then searched for her reviews at her clinic and they were also very low, with tons of negative patient feedback. I hope maple actually reviews this and their doctors to ensure the best quality of patient care, empathy. She seems like those doctors that don't give two bags of llama droppings about you.

I had spoken by phone to Dr. Luu in regards to a bum rash our toddler was experiencing. During our conversation she not only tried to rush me off the phone (think she was doing something else) and honestly didn’t even listen to what I was saying. I sensed no compassion or willingness in wanting to carefully listen or ask questions as a doctor should. Which resulted in the wrong medication prescribed to our child and this caused the rash to worsen. After consulting with another doctor, he was shocked that Dr. Luu would even give a cream knowing the condition of this rash. He had to give our child another ointment which within days cleared the rash.

As a parent, you want the best for your child and based on our experience with her. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST you look elsewhere or go to the emergency then having any form of advice from Dr. Luu. She clearly does not know what she is doing and doesn’t take her job seriously knowing what her field is all about. She should honestly look to work in another field because she is one of the worst doctors we have come across. We will never be returning back to her and will make sure none of our family or friends are seen by her. We have already warned everyone close to us.

Dr. Luu has been very caring and compassionate with our family . She refers to a specialist when needed and orders extra tests to follow any concerns . I appreciate her direct and knowledgeable advice. It Is so much better than the vague and tepid responses that I have gotten from doctors in the past . We have seen Dr. Luu for over 15 years now and I would highly recommend her .

DR. Luu... my daughter and wife don't see you anymore. Your should be embarrassed and ashamed for how you treat patients- (your clients). You have no class nor have ever exhibited the smallest amount of any friendly demeanor to us. You are robotic, lack any compassion and when you do speak- you always remind us of how much everything costs.. and refuse tests your clients request! Tests that make sense for the well being (Health) of the person asking..Really? Don't worry we got our tests done- all of them. Life is short- look yourself in the mirror. Wake up and show somebody you care! Conclusion: Horrible Doctor and should not be left alone unsupervised with any patients. The medical profession is tarnished and should be ashamed with this person in its college. Thank goodness Ethics (for both sides: Patient/ Practitioner) Compassion & Responsible care are more widely focused on in Med school these days. This way we don't churn out more Dr. Luu's in the future.. all stated respectfully and to the point- just like she does when you visit her.

She must have burned out in her career because she is very rude and inconsiderate. She doesn't even look at me when I'm talking to her and she responds with a rude, belittling tone. My mother also had the same experience with her. It seems as if she is not passionate about her job and she just wants the salary. Also, she for some reason charges me a bunch of extra fees for things that no other doctor has ever charged me for. Terrible doctor. I'd rather wait 2 hours for a walk-in doctor than see her again.

She was rude and discharged me without proper grounds and under demonstrably false pretenses. On top of that, doctor Luu (and I use the term doctor loosely) dated the discharge letter to June 25 (the day we last met) yet it hadn't been delivered by Canada Post until July 15 (almost 3 weeks after the supposed date of the letter), which was despite the fact it was sent via Xpresspost, which indicated she wasn't being honest as to when she wrote the letter because it wouldn't take 3 weeks for a letter to arrive via Xpresspost (I still have the original Canada Post delivery notice as well as the envelope of the letter being date stamped with an accompanying notation by a Canada Post teller attesting to this).

I had filed a complaint at the time about this with Rohit Suppal (the director of the clinic), although in retrospect I wonder if this was a sufficient response on my part because it occurred to me Rohit might not have been the most unbiased person in this situation and therefore it's possible he may have tried to sweep this under the rug rather than taking appropriate disciplinary action (as I had requested) against her.

By far the best doctor I have ever had. Very knowledgable and has great concern for her patients. She is wonderful with my children. She is on maternity leave until December 2011. I refuse to see anyone else until she returns!!

Dr. LUU has been very thorough, kind and considerate with me regarding my health issues. I had heart bypass surgery in 2006 and she managed my after surgery care, medications etc. and made me and my family feel secure that all of my needs would be looked after. She has referred me to the appropriate specialists, clinics etc. and prescribed the appropriate medications when warranted. I feel very fortunate to have DR. Lien LUU for my family doctor.
