She has been our family Dr since 2008. She is an amazing individual willing to listen and figure out the issues. My highest respect for her amongst all previous Docs.

She has been my doctor for almost 30 years and that of my children to whom she helped birth 25 and 23 years ago. She is kind, respectful, thorough, understanding and gets the "human" and emotional aspect of practicing medicine. I have never been disappointed in any regard. She is a model family doctor!

Dr . Hollander is a great GP I couldn’t ask for anyone better to take care of me and my family. I was recently in the office and noticed a change of staff, for the better . There was a unpleasant older lady that had been there for as long as I have been a patient . The staff now are so helpful and friendly.

Back in 1993 I decided to have another child. I was 34 years old. I had just moved to Bowmanville and needed a doctor. I can not recall how I found her, but I did! She gave me resources in which to help me and my husband conceive because we weren't having success after several months. I became pregnant and due to two previous horrible birthing experiences I asked Dr. Hollander if she would let me have my baby MY way. She and I discussed my thoughts and she agreed to take me through my pregnancy and delivery- MY way. She took excellent care of me and diagnosed gestational diabetes in my third trimester. She supported me 100% with making sure I could start my maternity leave earlier than expected with my employer due to the diabetes. She also agreed to allow my then 13 year old daughter to be in delivery with me. She appealed to the board of directors at Bowmanville Hospital to allow my daughter to be at my side when her brother was born. You see, she had become my daughters doctor as well and Dr. Hollander knew my daughter would be so supportive for me and embrace the miracle. I went into labor days later before a decision could be given so, sadly my daughter could not be in labor/delivery with me, but the fact Dr. Hollander went to bats for us meant so much. I had decided on using a birthing bed and self-administer of nitrogenous oxide. Dr. Hollander had, in advance, given her orders for my care during labor, so even though from mid-night until 5 am when Dr. Hollander arrived , the nurses HAD to follow her orders. No IV. No birthing monitors of any kind. I was to be up and moving about during labor etc. etc. The nurses hated following them and called Dr. Hollander to complain about MY birthing actions. She later told me that she raised her voice and told them in no uncertain terms, I was to be able to basically do whatever I needed to do. She was supportive and helpful during the delivery. It was the most wonderful pregnancy and birthing experience I could have hoped for- all due to Dr. Hollander. I moved to Ohio in 1995 after saying my goodbyes to Dr. Hollander. I missed her medical care for several years and trying numerous doctors here. I finally found another female Dr. whom reminded me so much of Dr. Hollander in her way of listening, remembering me and my care, asking for MY opinions and what I want to do. Dr. Hollander will be in thoughts and wonderful memories until I am gone. You would be fortunate indeed to trust this doctor.

I posted an earlier unfavourable rating for Dr Hollander. Since then, she apologized for the prescription problem and explained why it happened. I was grateful for her apology. Dr Hollander also told me that she would investigate the concerns I raised regarding her staff. Since then, Dr Hollander has demonstrated empathy and concern for my well-being, and has been very helpful in ordering tests and making referrals. I am satisfied that my health concerns are being addressed.

Dr Hollander has been my GP for more than 20 years. While she has always been very conservative in her treatment, I've been reasonably satisfied with her until recently. I've had significant pain in several locations for the past several months. She prescribed very short runs of Tramadol but offered no diagnosis and refused to order an MRI for chronic wrist pain and refused to refer me to a rheumatologist. Yesterday morning, I called as soon as her office opened to request a prescription renewal and informed the receptionist that I was out, still and still in paint and asked if the dosage could be increased. I was assured that Dr Hollander would be given the message. I then asked my pharmacist to fax in the request. At 3:45 PM I called my pharmacist -- they had not received the prescription. I called Dr Hollander and was told that it was being looked at. I reiterated that I was out and that I would like the dosage increased. My partner checked with the pharmacy an hour later -- no prescription. This morning I started calling Dr Hollander's office as soon as they opened. Forty minutes later, I have been unable to speak to anyone. The line is either busy or I get voicemail. I am extremely unsatisfied with this situation. I am in considerable pain and now face having to go to emerg (and wait hours) in order to get relief.

I have been seeing Dr H for over 20 years, definitely one of the best and most helpful doctors I have ever encountered in my life.

I have had Dr. Hollander for over 20yrs and she delivered my daughter. My son goes as well and she always listens and helps us out the best she can. But if she doesn't know the answer she finds someone who can. Because I,'m adopted she makes sure me and my kids get thise extra tests to make sure we're health!

I could not say enough about how Dr. Hollander cared for my father over the last six months of his life, while at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Dr. Hollander was a good listener, she was willing to listen to all concerns, and best of all put my father's care first. I felt we made decisions together after discussion. She met with us as a family to decide on care. She is so caring. She is the Dr. I would want if I was lying helpless in a hospital bed.

She has been my doctor for 22 years. Very professional and personable. She knows me and my medical situation extremely well and always gives good advice, treatment, referrals and support. Things don't always run on time, but find me a doc or hospital that does! She's great.
