Biography

“I chose this field for several reasons. Plastic surgeons must be creative in solving problems. Plastic surgeons are innovators. We are often faced with unique problems that cannot be solved using conventional, cookie-cutter approaches. We can make a big impact on your quality of life. “By restoring function to a patient’s injured hand, for example, we re-enable their ability to feed and dress themselves, drive a car or go to work – all the day-to-day activities most of us take for granted. Plastic surgeons get to work with all regions of the body, too. I get great satisfaction from helping injured people return to productive, happy lives. “Having grown up in Mason City, I am happy to practice my profession here, too. I care about my patients. I have empathy toward them. I try to learn about their life circumstances. By understanding their situations, I am able to better direct their care. I believe this greatly increases the likelihood of the most successful outcomes.”
