Dr. Fougy has been my psychiatrist for over five years. She has been a huge help to me and my ongoing treatment for bipolar and major depression.

I think it's very important to note that she is one of the only psychiatrists in the area willing to take on Medicaid patients, and many of her patients that I've met in the waiting room have emotional and mental disorders so debilitating that they require 24/7 care from one or more personal aids. She tries to take time with each and every patient and as a result her appointments often run over. I'm used to the fact that I will rarely get in to see her at the actual time of my appointment, but I'm also aware of the fact that I'm not the only one who needs help, and because I only have Medicaid, my options are limited.

If you have premium healthcare and a wealth of options to choose from, choose a psychiatrist who does not see Medicaid patients, or those who are under-insured. But if you're poor and you've been navigating public health care for years like me, you know how rare it is to find a doctor like Dr. Fougy, who is helping people that most psychiatrists would never bother to see. I'm one of those people and I can't say enough how grateful I am.

I wish I could give no stars. This is absolutely the worst doctors office I have ever been to. No matter when I have come you have to wait at least an hour after your appointment time to see the doctor. The office staff is rude. And I have come at least 2 or 3 times for an appointment and the office was closed. Nobody notified me. I wasted my time and gas driving there for nothing. I definitely would never recommend ANYONE to use this office!!!!

Suffice it to say my former doctor of 10 years, had tried countless medication and shots for me but I continued to have bouts of depression, mood swings, and insomnia. He'd told me that no medicines would work 100%. After he retired, I began to see Dr. Fougy who was kind and patient. She made some changes to the medicines I'd been on, and I feel better than I've felt since I was diagnosed in 2004. She is by far, the best! She has a great staff. She is not good with returning messages, but I suppose you can't have it all.

This was my doctor for over 10 years, and today, she made me feel like I was just another patient. As a very emotional, temperamental person, I could always count on her, but her secretary made things very hard for me to deal with in the last couple of visits. It all came down to a bill that was 4yrs old and it was about $146 of co pays that they didn't collect from me. I was willing to pay but the secretary told me if I don't pay, there will be a problem, I don't take threats to well so I told the secretary and the Doctor to go F off. After saying all that, she was the best psychiatrist I had for over 10 years. I wish I could mend things but I know it won't happen. They assumed I had no co pay but I told them my insurance information very clearly, it's sad it came down to something that I was willing to work out but to treat me in a belittle way made me lose all respect for D.r. Foughy for letting her secretary messed up on not collecting my co pays that I just find out I have to pay $16.52 for every visit which is not bad at all. I do regret using profanity to Dr. Foughy, she didn't deserve that but that secretary has too much mouth on commanding me to do things, its a way you talk to people to show respect because if you give respect, you earn respect.

I'm sympathetic to the fact this is a difficult time for her (Google: "Ghislaine Fougy unprofessional conduct" for the court decision) but she missed my appointment twice in a row, leaving me without the care of a physician for nearly two months. Save yourself some grief: go elsewhere. PS: Her staff is remarkable. Other physicians should try to hire them at a premium.

This doctor took me almost TWO HOURS after the appointment time. She did not do a thorough assessment, and her diagnosis was inaccurate. (I am a licensed social worker; I have a thorough knowledge of DSM-IV diagnoses.) When I called to ask for an emergency 30 day prescription I was unable to reach her for three days. When I called her emergency cell phone she said that she would call me back. She never called. On other occasions I left messages on this cell phone and never heard from her.
