I have been with Katie since she started her practice. She has always been excellent with me. Through everything she is open , caring, and a wonderful person and Doctor. Never feel rushed, or dismissed. Thanks for all her work

Not impressed by any of the staff at The family Health team, since the change over.
From reception ( who are snotty) I like Dr. Van Alphen been with her over 20 yrs. I just find she is too rushed for the next call! Just feel being pushed aside. I have respect for her, and I know when push comes to shove.. She is a good Doctor!.. I just don't appreciate the organization that she is in!

I have been a patient of Katie for years. Se was okay at first but she had me on the wrong antidepressant for a long time and it almost killed me. I was spiraling into a deep depression if it hadn't been for a near death experience in 2017 and seeing a psychiatrist while I was in the hospital who put me on the right medication I'd be dead now. Katie has zero experience with depression she should admit that to a patient and refer them to someone who does. Last year during Covid I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I was experiencing shortness of breath and a terrible cough. The day before I went up to the E.R. Katie did a phone consultation with me. She attributed my symtoms to asthma. If I hadn't gone up to the E.R. the next day because I was so worried about my symtoms, my slow growing lung cancer never would have been detected until it was stage 4 and inoperable. Thank God I did. I had my left lung removed on Dec. 3rd. And Katie has never called me since my cancer was detected, which is shameful for a family doctor. Where is the concern for her patients? I have become so disillusioned with her and her incompetence. I have not heard a word from her since our phone call in June 2020. A lot has happened to me since then and I know everything has been sent to her. She didn't even check in on me when I was in the hospital in Dec. Thank heavens for specialists that actually care because she sure doesn't I think she needs to retire and soon.

Katie has been my family doctor my whole life (20 years) and I am truly so lucky to have her. She always listens to my concerns and provides helpful ways to manage the issue. With one of my issues, she made a suggestion for me to help with pain I was having since the ultrasound came back normal but told me to call back if what she suggested did not work. She is always willing to adjust a dosage of my medication, I feel like she wants to really help. I honestly could not believe the bad reviews on her. I always say to people I have the best doctor, I never want her to retire because I trust her and am completely comfortable to talk to her/

I am a personal support worker and I care for a 95 yr old lady with early onset of Alzheimers, she also has cellulitis in her leg, I have care partner work ing with me to help treat her leg, her condition has worsened and care partnershas been sending the reports to Dr Van Alphan, we have made a phone call to this doctor to come in to do a house visit. It has been one week and we have not seen or heard anything from her at all. Her patients needs immediate medical attention and it's to the point where she needs antibiotics. She is very unattentive to her patient or she just doesn't care. I wish this patient could get another doctor.

I've had Dr Van Alphen for about 1.5 years now and I must say I am so happy to have her. She immediately tested and treated me for symptoms I've had for a while and went over looked by other doctors. She always takes her time, listens to my concerns, follows up appropriately. She really makes me feel at ease to have her as my health care provider. Everything I take to her I feel she treats just as important, and I feel good leaving her office. I'm also very pleased when it comes to my children we are fit right in. Some of the office staff on the other hand are a little difficult, not very accommodating, and don't seem overly happy....All in all I'm happy with the services! Thanks Dr. Van Alphen for everything you do!!

I do not recommend Dr. Van Alphen. She has been my family doctor due to my parents choosing her. I once said I thought I might be depressed and she brushed it off as though it was nothing and handed me some literature. I felt very uncomfortable, she was cold and I could tell she didn't care and just wanted me out of there.

I have recently gone to her to ask for a prescription for vaccines, she was more interested in having completely unrelated test results faxed to her and information on my sexual activity as opposed to addressing what I had actually gone in there for. She seemed like she just wanted me out. I will not go back, and I do not recommend her.

I've been a patient of Katie's for over 25 years. I feel like i'm the luckiest person to have her. She's very busy, but never shorts me. She's always kind and patient. She's smart, and thorough. I respect get opinion completely and she always makes me feel like i have a say in my care. She is the epitome of what great healthcare should be.

I found Dr VanAlphen very unprofessional, uncaring and cold. She behaved as if I was inconveniencing her and actually outright lied to me. I don’t think she should be practicing.
