I went to this so called doctor. He has no empathy for his pts themselves. I took my meds there n was short but we came home n found the rest of them. We took the rest back to prove I had them n he did not give a care. His nurses r good n I don't know why they stay with him. His name is as horrible as he is. He has the worst secretary in the world. She will see u waiting to talk to her n make u wait sometimes over10 mins. This is one horrible doc n has no bedside manners n just not care. Some people have told me that he said if u r young u don't need anything even though he has results that prove how bad your back is. They told me he really only prescribes for the old since soon they will be dying. I would not trust this so called doctor even with my dad and he is 93. So if u r looking for a pain clinic please please find another one for your own sake. Look for the wvu pain clinic or the one in Cambridge. This doctor is no good n never will be. Please do it for your own health. Please

My fiance had doctor Balgo ask her every time what's wrong with her, she's been there 2 yrs. She has 2 titanium rods., 8" each, and 4screws holding her back together, has 3 children and is only 30 yrs old, he told her he only writes old people decent meds cause their already dying, problem is people can't live their life at a young age were they can't even get a part of the bed because of all the pain and lack of sleep. He is a horrible doctor that only cares about himself, has so many patients that you don't even know what's wrong with them.

I am a disabled veteran who has been recently refered to this doctor. I was trying to find a pain management doctor closer to home (Moundsville Area) however my primary care provider would not refer me to a pain management doctor that was less than 3 miles from my house because , in her words, Dr. Shalifaux is a shaddy character and has been accused of some things. I asked but, was he convicted of the acusations? and she replied, well no! so I sais then he's innocent... I'm not able to drive cue to my physical and psycological disabilities. I dont even own a car. So now I have to find a ride all the way to St Clairisville and then hope that this doctor is more interrested in helping me acheive somewhat of a normal lifestyle than tooting his own horn. I guess its better than Pittsburg? Thank you for serving your country now go away!

I had Dr.Balgo for years. When first starting he was very attentive and involved with my familys health. As he went on to be the prison dr. County corener.. football dr for the st. C red devils. Nursing homes.. he stretched himself thin.. over crowded waiting to be seen.. his one nurse practioner decided my chldfens strep throat.which tested positive.. didn't need medication. She also broke confidentiality several times about my xhusbands girlfriends n her comments. He then went into the pain mgmt. Which was if your his patient you can not do both. I was in process of pain mgmt before that..only wanting cortizone shots.. he does depending on his life wether he's lost weight.. pushes with arogance if you areee overweight. Until he regained... some of the secretaries were kind and nice others you wanted to choke . I missed a appointment dues to a hospitilazation.. they'd have none of those excuses and was dismissed as a long time patient of years. I had a dr tell me he wanted me to see balgo not her.. refering to the np he had. They had many patients coming to the other urgent care where shed misdiagnosed.or gave wrong medications. Well. I was told I had to stick seeing the. np didn't matter if a specialist or whom said what their office their rules n doc was just plain to busy to see his patients.so you were stuck with the np u had a problem find a dif dr. And for a fee they'd send your records. Also doc would tell you if you went to the other urgent cafe in town

Very disappointed - all he did was speak about himself.

I found this dr. to be very arrogant. I have never abused my pain medication (for a serious nerve injury) in my life. He treats everyone as if they are a criminal. I switched to the WVU pain clinic where I am treated with respect.

Found the secretary to be rude but the nurses to be friendly. Dr. Balgo in my opinion is all about the money & not about his so called patients 1 example is I'm changing doctors of course so I ask how to get my records to my new doctor he responds you need to sign a release form and we will fax them to your new doctor upon him getting in touch with Balgo for a (fee) the amount of the fee depends how large your file is I dont think you should have to pay a fee for records that are about your health you should be able to go to his office and pick them up and not pay a fee they are your Records. Aslo his Nurse practicioner is as bad as he is.

Referred to Dr Balgo after long term pain MD left area. On first appointment dr. Did not want to talk about my medical history stating he'd review it later. When I asked if he had heard that Medicare was covering long term physical therapy (thinking this may help with pain management), he response was "I don't know, call your representative". Did not want to discuss how I, a paraplegic, could comply with his "rules". He Stated he was not going to discuss philosophy. Much of interview was about him and his rules. He displayed ZERO empathy, had no interest in learning from his patient. Seems more suited for law enforcement rather than practicing medicine. Poor, poor, poor.

I agree the secretary is very disrespectful and rude and if I were the doctor she would be fired a long time ago but on the other hand dr balgo is a very straight forward doc with strict rules and he is very knowledgeable.its easy for his pain management program.do exactly as he says and prescribes and everything will go great and if your a typical pm junkie looking for an easy doc to get over on,,well don't waste your time or his because he had zero tolerance for ignorance and excuses..
