Stay away from this office! A run down facility with rude and incompetent staff. Teal was dismissive to me when I expressed my wish to think about a procedure, after all it is an important one to make! She could not understand why I was hesitant. I asked questions concerning my eye health and she rudely dismissed them. Unfortunately, I had not done my research about her and her staff beforehand and now totally get the negative reviews!

What an awful experience. A nightmare actually. Dr. Teal did not talk to me at all. No one took family history of eye issues or my personal medical history. After Dr Teal left, I was left to the mercy of her ‘assistant.’ Then the nightmare really began…. No one, absolutely no one, should be bullied the way she treated me. I left the office in tears. I was not even ‘allowed’ to ask questions. Unbelievable. Never go there.

There is no wonder why I’m becoming a long-time client of Dr. Teal’s. People comment on my skin – I often go for wonderful peels at Dr. Teal’s Cosmetic Laser and Aesthetics- and have had the Ulthera and IPL with great success. The staff are always knowledgeable, professional, courteous - and fun – it’s evident the Doctor treats her staff very well because we, the clients, are always well looked after and respected. We’re so fortunate to have Dr. Teal in the Niagara Region considering her vast knowledge and success, including up-to-date practices to help us in our journey to feel and look better. She was very impatient because the drops weren't working in my eyes. Rarely spoke to me except to bark out commands. She made me uneasy and anxious. Speaks and dictates to her assistant only. She said she's giving me a referral. Briefly explained what she found and left so fast, I didn't even get a chance to ask questions. She didn't go into detail about what she found or explain what was happening. Her staff was wonderful, wish Dr Teal was. Would not recommend.

I see Dr. Teal for both cosmetic and eye care and find both her and her staff to be professional, knowledgeable, and caring. As a retired nurse I value her expertise and the overall efficiency of her team. It is true that they are very busy but I see this as an affirmation of their skill and reputation for excellent results.

A TERRIFYING experience. I've gone to doctor teal for my eye lid surgery and 2 injections. She is very unprofessional & rude. She doesn't care about what you have to say and do things quick & fast. During my surgery i felt every single pain and it was done incorrectly and also fast. After 2 weeks my eye still looks the same? That's when they gave me those injections. I had to go find another doctor because i never wanted to go back to her again causing me anxiety every-time i go. I went to a different ophthalmologist doctor and it was an AMAZING experience compared to dr teal. He even knows her! (& her bad reputation) & also felt so sorry that i had to go through all of that. He did my surgery today, it was comfortable & painless ! I recommend to stay away from this place & find another doctor who actually cares. I really wish i saved my time.

Teal routinely extremely abrupt, rude, impatient; ignores patient, often doesn't speak to person directly or acknowledge them at all unless unavoidable. Speaks and dictates to assistant only, and leaves room as fast as possible - too fast for questions. Obviously doesn't want to interact with patient. Doesn't proactively offer information about status of condition, explain, or discuss options - even when condition is dire and outcomes serious. Angry manner when asked for more information or explanation. Annual and other apts. routinely cancelled and postponed on short notice even when made months, or a year in advance. This has been consistent experience over many years - not just one bad day. Are the cosmetic clients treated like unworthy objects too, or only the OHIP patients? Too busy with that side lucrative cosmetic business for the inconvenient truly sick people who don't have an alternative? Patients deserve a respectful, caring bedside manner. Many are there with serious chronic conditions and uncertain outcomes, confronting potential or actual major vision loss, and many are seniors with other impairments such as dementia, hearing loss, etc. We deserve better. Being a specialist doesn't excuse inhumane treatment. Desk staff and one assistant nice. Some of the temporary staff (interns?) also rude, talk down to patients, and treat people like objects.

I had an appointment booked for three months. When I showed up they had no recollection of my appointment. Even though I had an appointment card. If I had done this to her she would’ve charged me for not showing up! very very very angry
