My mother had spinal surgery with Dr Mitra and his team. I can't say enough good things about them. They were amazing in every respect.

Dr Mitra gave me my cortisone injections to relieve my shoulder pain. He is an excellent doctor with a wicked sense of humor.

I was just referred to Dr. Mitra as I developed what was believed to be a hematoma on my lower leg after a baseball injury. I met with him at 9:15 am with my Xray (which he couldn't view and returned back to me). At this appointment he tried injecting something into my ankle however it just came back out again. He then tells me to come in between 12-1pm so that he can make an incesion and remove. So for the second appoint (which will lead to a formal complaint to the college of physisians) He comes in my room at the Dr's Office and freezes my foot (not very gently and without gloves on) and told me 'it's not painful'. He then comes in with instruments for surgery. Kidney shaped dish has someone elses blood in it. I point this out and he leaves to get new know. I then look at scalpel and there is blook on this too. When i asked for new instruments he leaves and washes. I refused treatment until he brought in instruments in packaging. Lastly not too gentle, pending recovering now.

I was disgusted by my visit with him. I had been sent for xrays by my family dr and an appt was made with Mitra. He didn't listen to what I had to say about my symptoms and just said that everything boiled down to a pinched nerve. I asked him what I could do for that and all he kept saying was "I won't operate" over and over. I told him I would have refused surgery on my neck anyways and all I wanted to know was if I should seek physio, if there was some sort of med I should take(ibuprofen) and all he kept repeating was that he wouldn't operate. Total waste of my time and I will never accept a referral to him again.
