I met with Dr. Gay in response to a cancer diagnosis. He gave me little to be optimistic about with my prognosis. This physician further discouraged my wife and I from seeking a second opinion, I felt I had no options. He spoke at length about his own health problems but this was not reassuring. Feeling troubled with him overseeing my surgery, I moved my care to Princess Margaret. Since I admit that I am much more statisfied with their care and better understand options around my diagnosis and the planning for my cancer treatment. I have become much more positive about my health because of this care. Speaking from experience Dr Gay means well but I'm not sure he is fully knowledgable of the care needs cancer demands. A cancer patient needs positive support around them and a knowledgable, resourceful physician. Small fish, big sea.

I could not have been more pleased with the care I received from Dr. Gay. He is friendly, concerned, very helpful and totally focused on you while you are with him. He made the whole surgical experience very much less daunting. His office staff are really nice too, although he is very busy they do their best to be accomodating.

I've been a breast cancer patient of DrGay for about a year. Although this has been a difficult battle leaving me feeling sickly and unfeminine, Dr. Gay seems to understand this. He has disclosed very private personal information to me about his family, himself, and his own illness. He is somehow able to make me feel very appealing despite my health. He looks at me very passionately and is very attentive to me. I always look forward to seeing him.

I'm a female patient with a history of breast cysts. I recently returned to see Dr. Gay for follow up and found his behaviour very arrogant. He didn't listen to my concerns and dismissed how I felt about some of my health concerns. He disregarded my opinions and questions. I was also uncomfortable with his tone and felt intimidated by his demeanor. I felt like he was treating me like I was of lower class. I wished I had brought a family member attend this appointment to support me. I have since seen another surgeon who has booked some tests and assured me that my concerns are valid. It's unfortunate that Dr. Gay's arrogance is getting in the way of his care. I'm no longer one of his files, as I'm now another surgeon's patient. I no longer recommend him.

I just wanted to let everyone understand how wonderful Dr. Gay is. He has saved my life! 2 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a biopsy confirmed the cancer, Dr. Gay was the surgeon to whom I was referred. I was devastated, but his calm understanding and caring approach made me feel safe and secure with the thought that my life was in his hands. I ended up having two surgeries 1st a mastectomy and 2nd for my lymph nodes. His care in the hospital was outstanding, along with great bedside manner and humor. The look of concern on Dr.Gay's face and the compassion he showed me and my family made me feel safe. Any and all questions I had asked, he responded to with patience and answered honestly. His encouraging words were enough to make me smile and say "I can get through this". There are only a few special people let alone doctors in the world who carry so much love and care for others. Dr. Gay is one of those people!I am blessed to have had him as my doctor!

This man (and my family doctor) literally saved my life. After my consultation with him, he had me in for a colonoscopy within 3 weeks and removed a 2cm polyp. He said he usually measures in mm. His bedside manner is awesome and I would recommend him to anyone.

This is the second time I have seen Dr. Gay, first time for surgery. He was amazing, informative, and polite. I felt comfortable with every stage of my surgery. I would recommend Dr. Gay for any kink of surgery you might need.

Tremendous Doctor, Great Surgeon and one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. He came highly recommended by another surgeon, my GP and every one of the people I know in the medical field, that know of him. He has done two cancer related surgeries for me and has been a great encouragement through the whole treatment & follow up process.

This is the best GS that I have ever had, in every respect. This world needs more like him, that is for sure. He made me feel comfortable when I was really nervous, and his sense of humour was appropriate and a great distraction. How lucky we are in Oakville to have a very rare doctor, who is so genuine, compassionate and caring. I sure hope he stays here forever!!

Dr. Gay is a fabulous doctor. I trust him completely and am so thankful he was my surgeon for my first surgery ever. Everyone I know who has been treated by him feels the same way. I feel very fotunate that I was referred to him and Oakville is very lucky to have him. I would recommend him to anyone. He is kind, compassionate, highly-skilled and makes you feel like you are his only patient when he is with you. He is a wonderful, wonderful doctor. He recently operated on my primary physician, who also thinks he is wonderful! What a recommendation that is. I am also told that all staff at the Oakville hospital agree with my assessment.
