I have had Dr. Thuraraijah as my Gyno since I was 16. If it wasn't for her, I would not have been able to have children. I had multiple ovarian cysts and even lost my left ovary. She monitored me for 15 years, and even helped saved my right ovary. Agreed that she can be abrupt, but I would rather have someone be honest and abrupt with me when it comes to my health! If you can get her as your gyno, you are lucky! She is thorough, thoughful when it comes to your health, and she gives you the straight goods - which I agree can be tough medicine.

I had tests done and they requested, with great urgency, I return to the office to review the results. I thought I had ovarian cancer only to find out they were missing the second page of the results. Very rude and unsympathetic to the awful manner in which they handled this situation. During the same day she dropped me as a patient claiming she was going to minimize her patient load after I had been going for a few years. From other comments made, it seems she did me a favour.

It's been almost 14 years since i saw the doctor- and i remember the moment i left that office- i was 22 at the time and was told that i would never have children. She said this to me after she made a diagnosis of PCOS. i was devastated. i did not want to beleive what she said the day i married my husband- was determined to have children. YES it did take some time to get pregnant- almost 5 years. But it also took another GP to do complete bloodwork and prescribe metformin for me- which regulated my periods (not diabetic) soon after being on this med i lost weight and got pregnant- i have 2 boys now- they are healthy and thriving. i have always thought of this doctor and what she said to me- i would only ask that any one who may be in a similar situation to seek a second opinion. In my opinion- she was dismissive and patronizing. also dismissed a yeast infection as poor hygiene. (what?!) oh and did i forget to say that she called me fat?? non-existant bedside manner.

She saved my life. She recommended I see a specialist right away after an abnormal pap. Normally Dr's wait 6 months. Good thing I listened. I went to the specialist and he told me that he has never seen such a rapid advancement of HPV. The issued was resolved. I was healed in a situation where I could have died of cancer. Thank you Dr. Thurairajah!

I'm not sure how she is getting such good reviews, unless she is padding them with her own comments because I agree with the ones who gave her a low rating. she was completely dismissive, argumentative, patronizing and has a horrible bedside manner. She gave a preliminary diagnosis of my cyst which turned out to be minor but told me it may be something very serious. This she told me despite the fact that the first ultrasound wasn't clear and needed to be redone. What doctor makes that kind of diagnosis and scared the heck out of their patient with an inconclusive report!?!? She also went on ALOT about her being a doctor for 20+ years. you figure that after that long of being in medicine, she's get over herself by now. She's a really good example of how our healthcare system is fast eroding.

She's not only a doctor but a friend. She shares your problems like her own. I feel privelged to have her as my doctor. I would strongly recommend her as your first choice.

Dr. Thurairajah is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered. I will be very sad when she retires. She listens incredibly well, actually calls you back and answers all your questions.

She is the most amazing doctor I have ever been to - period. She has listened to every concern I've had and not focused only on her area but was open to the possibility that it could be other problems and initiated the follow up on those areas as well. She's very direct, but I find that entirely reassuring. She's incredible.

The most thorough gyn I've ever gone to - and in my 81 years I've been treated by four others who were very good.
