I recently had some periodontal surgery with Dr Shaw-Wood. I found him to be skilled, gentle, good natured and punctual. Importantly he is a great needle man. He has an excellent nurse and good front end staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Shaw-Wood for anyone who needs periodontal work.

Had to have two adjacent implant in upper jaw. Total cost with exam, cat scan and sinus lift/bone implant is about $5k which is expensive (no insurance). I had negligible pain from the work and only took one Tylenol before bed to get good sleep. I found Dr Paul to be professional, VERY competent, and considerate to myself. He explains all of his work and options clearly and answered all of my concerns. If you need quality periodontal/surgical work he is great. If I needed another implant in the future I would definitely go back to him.
As a retired Professional Engineer, I am quite critical in my evaluations and recommendations.
In addition all of his dental staff and front desk staff are a pleasure to deal with.

I had a tooth pulled and I am waiting to have an implant put in. He is always on time which is a pleasure. He also spent a lot of time to explain things. He also went out of his way to fix my mouth guard after he pulled my tooth.

My first meeting with him was good. He had a lot to say on why my gums were the way they are, drew diagrams but didn't tell me much about the procedure itself or the days after, which were painful. I trusted him, thinking it wouldn't be too much of an issue since he talked a lot about other stuff I thought he would prepare me for post-procedure too, if need be. During the actual procedure, he made an off-coloured joke that was awkward and he went quickly from jovial to tense and testy. When I went to get my stitches out, he was down right rude when I mentioned he was hurting me, implying it was my fault. The assistant during the first procedure was lovely, the one during the stitches removal was dismissive. After the consultation I was sent a questionnaire on Dr. Shaw-Wood and I filled it out positively from what I knew at that time. I wish I could take it back. I would not go to him again.

Staff is very helpful especially Myrna...Dr Shaw Wood explains everything without rushing you through...Very efficient Follow up service is excellent...Aside from all that he is a very nice and funny guy...I would recommend this doctor highly to anyone with the type of dental problems he deals with...George Doull

Dr.Shaw-Wood is very professional, his staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. He has a good sense of humour and explains the dental treatment plan and the options in great detail. He gives all options from the least expensive and the most. There was no pressure on which option... it was up to me, the patient. The fees were very reasonable compared to others. I would highly recommend this Dr.
