My goodness. Hasn't he retired? Been in the works for years. Always late and only part time. Not good for geriatric patients. Rushed mt mother out after less than 10 minutes. Never went to the hospital during any 3 long term admissions. Not knowledgeable and rude. Not up to date on geriatric care and doesn't seem to care. Hospital staff have been waiting for him to retire. Worst doctor ever.

Dr. Paton (Walter) has been my doctor since I first saw him in Emerg. in 1977 (36 yrs ago) and he took care of me and told me to go to a followup with my Dr and I decided he was to be my new Dr. He delivered my 2 girls. My daughters have always loved going to see him and he's very clear on his diagnoses and if you don't feel he is just ask him to clarify...he never has a problem with that! He's an awesome Dr....very caring, informative, knows his stuff, easy to talk to and doesn't make you feel rushed. He is a bit tardy with his appts. but he is getting better and he IS A DOCTOR, things do come up!! Do what I do, call ahead to ask how far behind he is.....the staff is always polite and never have a problem answering your questions!! I have moved out of White Rock now but I will still make appts to come see him when I come into town!!! It will be a very sad day when he retires completely and I know he is getting close! I will miss him!!

I'm fortunate to have been a patient of Dr. Paton's for 42 years. He brought my daughter into the world in 1972 and also became my elderly parent's doctor when they moved to WR in 1984. I learned from him that my aging parents could fair so much better in their own home and later in my care in my own home than needlessly taking up valuable hospital space where they are given unnecessary drugs which only confuses them. I praise his excellent skills, great wisdom and of course is expressive humour. I consider him not only as my doctor but also a great friend who's always been there for me.

Dr. Paton is a nice person, very nice in fact, but patient care should be the real objective. After 38 years in his care I am looking for another Dr. He says he will refer me to specialist but some times it never happens. My situation is now serious as I am about to need (?) amputations but the latest referal is three months away on an emergency basis with no intervention either by prescription or otherwise. Being funny is fine but this isn't. He does not follow up on his recommendations. If you want a prescription then he is your guy after, but only after, very long delays (up to one and a half hours) in the waiting room.

Dr. Paton is a knowledgeable doctor, not a computer savy/typist (current 'new' system they have). He's part time now, which affects existing and older patients. He assists patients with their issues in a helpful but rushed fashion. Hopefully this office will not go the way of the drop in clinics where your in an out in 5 min because they want volume, not proper explained medical care.
