Dr chew is a terrible doctor . I had a seizure four years ago, when I was referred to him. He sarcastically asked if I had drank too much alcohol because of my age. He ordered an EEG test to then tell me that there is some abnormal brain activity but he wasn’t too worried about it. Flash forward two years and I have another seizure . Thank god this neurologist took me seriously and sent me for an MRI. The MRI showed that I had a brain tumour and I had to have it removed with radiation to follow. My oncologist told me I was lucky because if this was found 15 years later things would have turned out a lot differently . Dr. Chew does not have good bedside manner either and most definitely did not take me seriously . I would not recommend him to anybody and I think he should not be practicing any longer .

Chew is not a good neurologist.
Ive seen Chew twice now for seizures. This second time Ive seen him over the span of a few years, I believe showed his true colours as a doctor.

He did not look at any of my papers before I came to my app. He had no idea that i was having seizures for years, have had several tests done (all negative, was a previous paitent.. nothing.  All very plain/ obvious in the notes had he bothered to even give it a scan before I came in. Indicates lack of care.
He mentioned in this appt that he would make a referral/ appt with mcmaster hospital to see someone even more specialized than himself.

side note: when you have seizures you have your liscence suspended for 6 months. so MTO sends you paper work to get filled out by a doctor/ neurologist.

I later asked Chew to fill this paperwork out: $100. $100 to check some boxes.... wrong on its own . especially for a guy who didnt bother to check my papers before an appt.... pass.....

It took  Chew over a month to make this appt. A MONTH, of waiting to get some more answers, and to maybe get my liscence back.

Chew is a joke. He really does not care for his patients.

Does not listen to his patients and ignores the symptoms. Does not care if the patient lives or not. His office is no better. His license must be revoked for the greater good.

I found Dr. Chew to be an amazing Doctor. He is very thorough and a very kind and professional gentleman.
I would highly recommend Dr. Chew to anyone who needs to be assessed by a stroke neurologist. He is a very knowledgeable and pleasant Doctor.

Do not put yourself at greater risk by visiting this Dr, he demonstrates total lack of interest, does not listen, shows absolutely no empathy, and is downright rude.

Dr. Chew is an amazing doctor... Finally someone has an answer for my problem.. I appreciate his staff being so helpful and friendly. The Dr. had my tests done the same day and all the results came back for him to review. He was pleasant and very helpful.

This "doctor" nodded off during my wife's appointment. An otherwise healthy 40 year old woman who suffers a stroke isn't something you see every day... I would have hoped a neurologist would have at least pretended to be interested.

Zero bedside manner, showed zero interest in her history or current state; ordered an MRI, when the results came in, he didn't even bother to see her to go over the results - his receptionist just called and said to follow up with our family doctor.

Not friendly at all. Diagnosed me with hemipelgic migraines 4 months ago and puts me on medication and then today at my follow up barely speaks to me and then writes me a prescription for a years worth and tells me to follow up with my family doctor to come off of the medication. Tells me this in the hallway infront of other patients so I couldn't ask him why I will be stopping my treatment. Thank God my primary is amazing and will help me. See a different doctor.
