Does not work WITH the patient. Seems very uncaring and unhappy about questions or needs. Does not keep up on current literature, knowledge is limited and not growing. Wants no contact when patient is under the care of a specialty MD, even though she has years of experience with the patient.

Dr. Mathison has been the doctor for my adult son with disabilities for 20+ years. She’s absolutely amazing with him, and I’m so grateful for her skill, patience, and concern.

Dr Mathison has been my gp for two decades. She's knowledgeable, kind, and cares about her patients. I'm so glad she's my doctor! Wouldn't trade her for anyone. :)

Dr. Mathison is wonderful. I have been a patient of hers for 11 years and I just adore her. She had gotten me through severe anxiety by listening to me cry in her office and setting up a plan to conquer the anxiety. She got the ball rolling when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, even calling me personally after my surgery to check to see how I was doing. She listens to me when I go into the office and genuinely cares. I have never had such great care by a doctor. She is wonderful!

I'm delighted to finally have found someone willing to 'listen' to my numerous issues. My mother and I both feel she is an excellent doctor. It's difficult to locate a 'doc' who doesn't just 'dismiss' you and say, "Well you have a genetic disorder and you know the only treatment is 'palliative' care" ; which inevitably equals meds, meds, meds and more meds! She had a few other ideas and a willingness to understand the complexity of my issues, for which I am grateful. I'd pretty much given up on ALL MD's prior to meeting Dr. Mathison. Thank you Sansum Clinic for having a few really decent ones. I also found to office staff to be quite kind and helpful despite how VERY busy they were with phone calls.

Unfortunately Dr. Mathison goes only by the book which doesn't include caring about her patient, family, or anything which might be a current factor to the well being of her patient. My last visit she made a very negative comment about my condition then called me later and admitted she knew nothing about the condition. I will never go back to Dr. Mathison.

Personally I like Dr. Mathison. But after paying out of pocket every year due to a huge deductible, and thus having minimal tests & treatment, finally this year with the passage of new health laws I was entitled to have more preventative treatments done at the insurer's cost. Yet she decided I needed no blood test (despite the fact one had been ordered every other year at my expense and I didnt go for the ordered test last year) she ordered no cervical test despite the fact that the last 2 contradicted each other, and even refused to order what should have been a free flu shot directing me to the clinics where a $20. donation is requested. Although my insurance is preferred provider network, It felt like an HMO where doctors are rewarded for saving the insurer's money. I will not go back, and hope this is not reflective all Sansum clinic MD's

I have been going to Dr. Mathison for years and I will never switch doctors! She is so caring and nice, she really listens to my concerns and will almost always send me for follow up work or to a specialist when needed. I appreciate this and her thoroughness has often caught things that other doctors would have missed. The only con is that because she is so great, it can sometimes be difficult to get an appointment. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Unfortunately Dr. Mathison is so busy with going over medications and information for the new Sansum Clinic system she has no time to talk to her patient.
