had to follow up constantly for imaging results.. lost paperwork lost requisitions and doesn’t reply when promised. It’s been bad for the last few years.

Dr Haaf is a very knowledgeable and compassionate Doctor. He is never quick to assume and always does thorough assessments and investigations, referring you to appropriate specialists if needed. I commute a long distance to continue seeing him because I trust him to provide quality care for me and my family.

If I was reviewing in 2018/2019 I would give 4/5 stars. But times have changed. I've been with Dr. Haaf for a long time (over 10 year) and always put up with the long wait times (min. 1hour from your scheduled appointment) because I knew that he would see things through and get to the bottom of things and take it seriously... Something shifted just before Covid hit and he changed.. and since going to phone appointments only in Covid its just gotten progressively worse.

I have chronic conditions, yet I haven't seen him face to face (even over video) since before covid. More and more I feel like I'm being gaslit over the phone and I feel like he just thinks I'm a hypochondriac. When in reality I'm just trying to discuss all of the things I've had going on with the 1 topic at a time rule - and he hasn't even seen/examined me in two years... I've had phone appointments where I bring up a past item and he tells me "oh sorry I'm driving so I don't have my notes in front of me". Or I can actually hear him driving which is just so unprofessional and makes me feel even more like I'm a waste of time to him. Honestly though, in what world should you be taking a call with patient while you are driving? The new receptionist is worse at picking up the phone and answering emails than Christine ever was. Christine would at least make an effort to call you to get things scheduled. Making an appointment currently, takes about a month from trying to book to the actual date of your phone appointment. He keeps using Covid as an excuse for a lot of things that really aren't affecting other doctors offices anymore - and haven't been for a while.. And if this receptionist is truly overwhelmed with work that nobody can reach her - it's time to hire a second receptionist to help her out. Holding a Chair position at the hospital on top of having one of the largest practices in BC - There are no excuses for Dr. Haaf to be able to afford more help to actually take care of his patients. I am mentally and physically exhausted trying to advocate for myself and make appointments that are so far out they aren't helpful. I'm tired of feeling like I'm alone with no support for my health or wellbeing. Others have told me some of what I have experienced, especially over the past two years, is on the verge of malpractice and neglect.

No sure what's happening--personal issues or what? Dr. Haaf has completely fallen off the bandwagon. I saw him for almost 15 years and had to stop going after multiple, consecutive, obvious and easily corrected, failures on Dr. Haaf's part.

I was willing to look the >1 hour waits for every appointment (literally) for the human connection he offered. But after years of that routine, the quality of his medicine has dropped off completely; he seem to have completely checked out.. After costing me money and time by failing to fill out forms for me (3 times! and refusing a refund for HIS apathy!) he has given my mother objectively bad advice on at least two subsequent occasions that has required second options and *actual medical tests*

I had to stop going because the experience is now verging on neglectful/malpractice.

Dr Haaf never ceases to amaze me. I have went in with issues that I thought were unique yet he was incredibly helpful. Today it was a broken tibia. His knowledge, advice and assistance was invaluable.

It should be known that he has no experience with trans, nonbinary or gender nonconforming people, and has an old way of thinking when it comes to neurodivergence... But he's happy to refer you to specializing clinics. That's the only way he can be helpful in all honesty.

In my experience, he's friendly and cares about his patients. He referred me to the necessary doctors so that I can start HRT and get surgery. He takes some time to give referrals and to send out faxes. It seems like he has too many patients and not enough time.
