Dr Ray was a pleasure to meet during my emergency visit yesterday. He ran X-ray, blood work, urine, ultrasound, the whole nine yards one could hope for. The staff here, from the nurses to the X-ray techs and blood draw personnel are exceptional. A small town feel with care is what you can expect during your visit, these human beings are so lovely. Highly recommend this doctor and the care team here. Keep up the great work!

I visited the black Diamond emergency room for severe abdominal pain I am a female age 20 Dr. Gary J Ray was the doctor I got. He didn’t ask he said we have to do a vaginal examination I said that’s fine he offered a nurse to be present I said yes. They kept the curtains half open he told me to put my body in what is definitely the wrong position for a vaginal examination. He said to put my feet together on the bed with my knees spread as far as they could I did then he explained the swabs I needed he started giving me the swabs and put them pretty deep into my vagina. then he started the physical examination and started with 2 fingers and proceeded to shove his 2 fingers on his right hand as far in as he could then poked around at every single angle to try to identify the spot in pain I screamed please stop it hurts he said what hurts I said the side walls your tearing it he said your almost done just wait the nurse ignored that he didn’t stop when I asked she reached her hand out to me as if I wanted to hold her hand for support. I am severely unimpressed with this doctor and his eagerness to get into a vagina in pain to create more pain he had a million nonsense justifications as to why I needed a vaginal examination but none seemed very sound I think this guy just got off on it and his final diagnosis was take a dump you’ll feel better when I asked what about the bleeding the passing of blood clots or the incontinence issue he replied that’s your family doctors problem.

Unfortunately, experience with dr Gary J Ray, very disappointing in terms of Ego problems, unwillingness to take symptoms seriously, an ' I know more than you attitude'. He even appears confident when he makes negligent statements or diagnosis.

Which is terrifying. I would never tell anyone I know to go see him at the black diamond emergency if he's working there. Dr Ray made preconceived notions about a vulnerable patient without any facts to back it up. He refused to incorporate patients symptoms into his decision of diagnosis / next steps.

Seeing this Dr may have actually caused the patient more trauma, appropriate complaint avenues will also be followed about this experience.

His demeanor changed when questioned for very valid medical concerns, did not appear to take patient feedback well. Could benefit from ego based self awareness training, education on how to consider clinical symptoms into his diagnosis along with medical diagnostics. I'm hoping he gets the training he needs to not traumatize any other vulnerable patients.

He also said that because the patients hemoglobin was within low normal ranges, that the patients symptoms were in no way from very low iron/ferritin levels that were present... When it is very possible if critical thinking is applied. And the patient had experienced declining iron levels in the past and had similar less severe iron/ferritin levels at the time and had an IV infusion which slowly resolved the symptoms without adverse reaction.
He refused indicated care in the emergency that day to a financially vulnerable, female, with stigmatized diagnosis. He put the patient at risk by ignoring critical low iron / ferritin symptoms.
Ie: severe debilitating lethargy, minimal ability for patient to function through the day, dizzyness which wasn't properly assessed initially, chest pain, shortness of breath at rest and exertion, pain, hand tremors ( which he never even got around to ask about as he had his mind made up prior ), and abdominal discomfort/pain / increased dysfunction in bowels.
Cardiac tests were run, but the critically low iron levels was not addressed and an IV infusion was refused. Based on ' there is no indication'.

I'm pleased to report that this patient was tended to by more competent medical professionals in the future, who were appalled to hear of the negligence with dr Ray prior, especially given the low iron/ferritin levels with accompanying progressed accompanying symptoms.

Dr ray Is fantastic. I have had a family Dr my whole life. I began to experience very alarming symptoms that my family Dr kept brushing off and made me keep a journal for 2 years before referring me to a specialist. The wrong specialist in fact. I decided to switch dr's to Dr ray and he had me into the right specialist within 3 months. He also sees my newborn daughter and is amazing with her !! Great Dr takes the time with every apt. We have and does not rush us. Always feel at ease leaving and knowing he is our Dr. Xo

Dr Ray is great! Nice man, knowledgeable and has never rushed through an appointment with me. He takes the health of my son seriously whenever I have brought him in and had a concern. He also followed up on a specialist appointment I had not heard from after two months to ensure we got in immediately.

I switched doctors, due to the clinic receptionist. It was impossible to get an appointment yet others could get one the same day. Her response is always go to emerg. Dr Ray is professional, curtious, and always listened.
