I like Dr. Friesen, but due to previous experience with hemorrhoid problems, I wanted a banding and not surgery as that has really worked for me before, he would not do that. Therefore pain every day.

Dr. Friesen recently caused a patient significant damage during a routine colonoscopy. The patient had to be hospitalized and could now require surgery. I think this doctor needs to be sincerely looked at to see if he is still competent to practice on patients. Be aware.

I first me dr Friesen about 17 years ago when I needed hernia surgery , he was referred by my family dr.he did my surgery flawlessly , no infection , 10 hours in the hospital start to finish, at the time , I owned reflections glass , I needed to get well fast , and I did , I was back at work on Monday , took it a little easier , but I was there. To me that is a great surgery, in and out fast , no complications , and minimal recovery time , in my books that's perfect.
Then in 2017 life changed , as life does, in April I revived an abnormal fit test , they booked a surgon for a colonoscopy, but not dr Friedan , I called back a couple days later and requested dr friesen , sask government called and asked on what basis do you request surgeon change , I told them my previous surgery history with him , and the change was ok ed .
In late April 2017 dr Friedan did my colonoscopy, again perfect work on his part , I was done , and didn't even know I had it done . My only clue was the clock on the wall , it was 2 hours later , so I knew something happen.
A week later I was in his office getting the worst news of my life , there was a Tumour and it was cancer , stage 3 colon cancer , my wife and I were floored , dr Friedan was compationite and told me , were going to surgery, and it's coming out !
He did major colon restraction, again perfect job , I never ever had to have a bag , not at any time , I spent 4 days in the hospital , very minimal , I was 90 percent recovered in 6 weeks , again a perfect surgery
As life goes , he also removed 21 limphnodes in surgery 4 of them showed cancer , then there was a worry about a cancer spread to other organs , so dr Friedan sent me for ct scan , was ok , then sent me for ultrasound, that was ok .
Then he lined up an awesome oncologist in stoon , he did an MRI and finally , yesterday it was confirmed, no dread of cancer , wow what a ride !!!when you go threw that for this long , man it's good to have dr Friesen on a ride like that!!!
Today is aug 11 2017 , I'm sitting in my living room with a chemo bottle of folfox around my neck , thankful as f⛔️⛔️K for dr friesen .
One day in July , he called just out of the blue to see how I was doing , such class , awesome , a real Heath care professional, finally !!!
Oh ya. , and did I meantion i f⛔️⛔️King hate hospitals , don't like most doctors .
In closing , thank you sooooo much dr Friesen , for treating me so well , and healing me with your amazing talent .
I'll never hesitate to jump up on your table , I promise. Lol. D T

For the last 20 years I have been going to Dr. Friesen every five years for a colonoscopy. He and his staff always provide the very best of professional care, all with a personal touch and a genuine sensitivity to putting patients at ease. I always feel as if he knows me--and cares about my wellbeing.

I have sat and waited for this Dr in the hospital and seen him run over 2 hours behind, because he visits with nurses, other patients(not his), on the phone with personal business, horsing around instead of working. He doesnt seem to care how long his patients have to wait for him. He may be a good DR but he is very arrogant.

If you need a surgeon who is understanding and REALLY KNOWS what he is talking about, THIS IS THE DOCTOR YOU WANT!! HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH!!! I've had Dr's & nurses accuse me of just looking for DRUGS when I was in MASSIVE PAIN! He took the time to review my records, old surgeries & procedures I had had in the past!! This man is the BEST DR. that this city has EVER HAD!! I REALLY HOPE AND PRAY THAT WE NEVER LOSE THIS WONDERFUL DR TO ANY OTHER CITY!!!! His bedside manner is awesome, he takes the time to explain what the problem is and he does it with such caring and compassion!! I LOVE THIS DR AND WOULD NEVER TRUST ANYONE ELSE!! HE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST YOU CAN EVER HOPE TO HAVE DOING YOUR SURGERY!! DR. FRIESEN - YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST & MOST CARING DR I HAVE EVER MET & COULD EVER HOPE TO HAVE TREATING ME!! I TOTALLY TRUST YOU & LOVE THE PERSON YOU ARE!! I KNOW THE JOB TAKES ALOT OUT OF YOU, BUT YOU GIVE SO MUCH OF YOURSELF ALSO. YOU ARE THE BEST!!
