I've periodically been under the cardiology care of Dr. Suvi Rasaiah for about 15 years. He came first to Port Alberni's (then) new hospital from George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He has a VERY quick and astute mind, takes copious notes of conversations on medical matters, is open to suggestions, and communicates with his patients in plain language and friendly, equal terms. It is always a pleasure to see and speak with him. I recommend him without reservations.

Terrible. Seems nice at first, but then becomes more and more abrasive, invasive, and judgemental upon follow-up visits. Made some serious misdiagnoses outside his scope of practice and wrote it in my chart, which will undoubtedly affect the quality of care I will receive in years to come. It's too bad that when I saw him under emergency circumstances for help, he ended up hindering my medical care in more ways than I can comprehend.

My wife collapsed at home after a few days being very lethargic. She was diagnosed with renal failure and Dr Rasiah was instrumental in providing her with the care required to make her well enough to return home. We found him to be very calm, professional and knowledgeable. Hospital staff hold him in very high regard which helped to alleviate our fears. Easy to talk with and easily understood. Yes, his time is spread very thin, but he never failed to take time with me to explain the severity of my wife's condition and treatment.

When my Dad was in renal failure, Dr. Rasaiah walked in and asked how he was feeling, then answered his own question by saying "you need new kidneys" then walked out of the room. A new low of callousness.

What can you say when a physician saves your life? I arrived on a flight from a rural community in renal failure and moribund. Thanks to Dr. Rasaiah's timely and knowledgable intervention I made a reasonable recovery from this deadly condition. He spent a long time mapping out my treatment and I will be forever grateful. The staff in the Renal Unit are professional and compassionate.

I hate to rate his punctuality because you know that when he is running late it is because he is taking the time to listen to someone and that I will get that same courtesy when it is my turn. He is kind, open and patient. He writes out instructions including timelines and is genuinely engaged. His front staff is shared with a group of doctors that operate out of their location and they are terrific too with upbeat and helpful demeanors.

I have proteinurea. Dr. Resiah, along with Dr. Pereira have been following my progress and have made sure I have the best medication and care. Good doctor. I appreciate that he listens and questions every aspect of my situation before making recommendations. I feel very confident in his abilities.

Have seen Dr. Rasaiah in the past with excellent results. Now that ihe is working at the dialysis clinic in the hospital, he is spreading himself thin. He has missed one of my scheduled appointments and with the other appointment, he was over an hour late and did not have a clue who I was and his files were so disorganized, he was treating me as a brand new patient instead of reviewing my past history with him.
