Awesome. First time doing a telehealth visit and it was a seamless experience. Dr. M was superb and explained things well. She listened to all my concerns and did not rush me. Great follow up on testing. Highly recommend this physician.

Dr. Meltzer's staff gathered every relevant information from me as a 46-year old person who wants my PCP to have a full picture of my past/present health profile so when things inevitably come up, we can make the most informed decisions. That turned out to be super helpful when the tests showed some results that needed to be put in bigger perspective: the doctor was able to give me time to change diet and exercise before she prescribe meds, and I am going to do my best on my part for the next visit. The doctor wasn't excited about a vitamin D test, so I was comfortable "denying" it when I went to the lab when I learned that a code was missing. And the doctor not only had a good discussion with me about my health profile and about colonoscopy as a general test for my age, she also followed up during a weekend (I hope she takes care of herself as much as she does of her patients). I was panicking after seeing test results, and it was such a relief to see the doctor's note. A doctor of her age using technology to match her care for her patients is rare. Dr. Meltzer inspired me to do the best I can as well in my own profession.

The follow up telehealth visit was after an initial in person visit to the office. Dr. Meltzer is great. I highly recommend her-- knows her stuff and has a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed both visits and feel I am on the road to better health because of her.

Excellent physician. I am a patient in the practice and could not see my regular PCP so I saw her and was very pleased with my visit. She is warm and compassionate and has a good sense of humor. I did not feel rushed during visit as I often do with my regular PCP. I am going to make her my PCP.

If you want/need a doctor who knows she KNOWS your health needs better than yourself, then she’s the one.. Case in point: My regular doctor was on extended leave and I needed to renew my really, really low-dose sleeping medication. Unfortunately, she was the default back-up. Arrogantly enough, and in a medical rebuke to my past doctors that I’ve been seeing over the past 20 plus years, she refused to renew this benign medication because it “could be habit-forming” (I had to laugh when hearing that because I’m 65 years and I’m quite sure that a 5 mg sleeping pill won’t turn me me into a pill addict). Adding insult to injury she made provide a urine sample, which was humiliating for me, a 65 year-old woman, since it signaled she considered me to be a long-term drug user looking to score drugs. As if I couldn’t be more humiliated, she then began lecturing me to “drink herbal tea, read a book, walk about the house, watch TV, don’t use I-Phone when you can’t sleep”. She also spitted out prescriptions for a sleep apnea test which HAD to be done in Stony Brook Hospital (not a home apnea test, mind you) and to see a psychiatrist for my sleeplessness. Why would she order these expensive tests and psychiatrist’s sessions when the humble sleeping pill meets my need? I need neither a sleep apnea test nor a psychiatrist . She made a mountain out of a molehill. Ironically enough, for someone who believes in the ‘holistic’ approach, she should have prescribed a psychologist instead of a psychiatrist. Please go to a doctor who has your best interests at heart instead of her, who is pushing her own agenda. PS: this is being sent at 3 AM since I can’t sleep, thanks to her.

Dr. Meltzer is a gem. She is very smart and tries so hard -- I know she is very busy but she always makes me feel like I am important. Once I had to see one of the male doctors and he was so full of himself. She was able to diagnose my problem when no one else could. She can think out of the box, and she saved my life. She's worth waiting for!
