Good luck trying to make an appointment...This review goes to show you that it doesn't matter how good the DR may be- if you don't have a good support staff, you will lose patients or potential business. I would love to rate the Dr but couldn't even get to see him because making a simple appointment with the Oviedo office was IMPOSSIBLE. The Orlando office wasn't any better!
I haven't seen this level of incompetency and unprofessionalism in a while:
Day 1: I was told that in order to make an appointment, I needed an authorization from my insurance although I had my referral. I have never called an office where I was made to get my own authorization in order to make an appointment. But, ok- I can understand that maybe that's an office policy so I when I received the authorization number, I called and left a message to make an appointment...CRICKETS. Waited a few days and I never heard back from a scheduler. Called back and was put on a never ending hold, then I was hung up on. Called back and was put directly on hold... Honestly, I get better response from my dog's vet's office.
Day 2: Called the office and after being hung up on several times, put on a long holds, I asked to speak to an office manager and was told she was in their Orlando office. I was not transferred, I called the Orlando office and was on a very long hold. When I was finally able to reach Rose the office manager who explained that they have a new phone system and that, "she's not sure what's going on." Then she starts calling out while I'm on the phone for a person named Brenda (like she's in a fast food restaurant). Rose apparently can't find Brenda so she puts me on hold- my call then falls into limbo, I'm on hold for another 5 minutes. Brenda finally, found my phone call (which was apparently in La La Land) and puts me on hold again. Brenda finally picks up the phone, and asks for my personal information several times and says that she can't find me on the Tricare system. I offer to email her the referral and authorization and she tells me that she doesn't have a working email and puts me on hold- AGAIN! At this point, my patience runs out and I hang up because I simply can not waste another minute. Five minutes later, Brenda calls back chuckling that she found me in the system- that her co-worker helped her find me in the Tricare system. I then told her that I wasn't interested in being a patient at their office anymore. At this point, I believe I've been more than reasonable and deserve better.
Seriously, this experience is laughable but not really. God forbid there is something seriously wrong with a patient- you can't even get in to see the Dr. because he has incompetent front office staff.
If you have a new phone system- train your staff!!! Also, train them to retrieve messages and how to schedule appointments. Also, I don't mean to be grammar patrol- but, fix your Spanish prompt. It's not, : "Apresione" it's "Oprima."
In writing this review I hope that this group of Drs really get their office in order. I'm sure that my experience is not an isolated incident, and maybe they need to hire better office staff or pay them more so that they can do their work properly.
Best of luck to anyone considering making an appointment- hope you have time to hold for excessive times and LOTS of patience, and a high tolerance for unprofessionalism.
