Dr. Lohrenz advertises well and his prices are reasonable... however if you book a 15 minute appointment you'll only see him for maybe 4 min. He doesn't take the time to ask how you how your feeling or check where the pain is located. He just comes into the room does a few adjustments and suggests booking another appointment sooner rather than later. His staff are nice and friendly but I wouldn't waste your money. Pay a little more at another clinic and actually get the most out of your appointment instead of someone who is trying to see as many patients as possible in a day.

This man saved my life. Period. I had a very bad accident and hurt my neck and back very badly. I was not working at the time of my accident and he offered me his service at a very reasonable price. It was very kind. It took time as my injury was severe but he was able to adjust me back to health and I will be forever grateful for him. Also, his staff is amazing. I would recommend him to anyone.

My health has improved immensely since over 9 years ago when I walked in with a workplace injury. Some of the ailments from the injury weren’t responding to conventional treatment like Physio therapy which did responded to chiropractic adjustment. Very compassionate, answers all questions, very knowledgeable. Halifax is very fortunate to have him as a chiropractor.

I am a traveller from Belgium and was suddenly confronted with a seriously blocked neck while down in Nova Scotia. This happened on a Saturday morning. I called about 20 practices in the southern half of the island, up to Halifax and only two contacted me back, Dr Brad Lohrenz's wife being one of the callbacks. She actually returned my call on Sunday - which I found superbly accommodating, and offered that Dr Lohrenz see me the same day. So I drove down to Halifax and was helped in a way that I find very similar to what I experienced at my chiropractor back home. My pain was relieved for the largest part the same day, and we added some follow up visits to work through the blockage.
I did have to get used to the very short (10 minutes or so) follow-up visits (in Belgium, every visit is 40-5- minutes, intake or follow up :) ) and while Dr Lohrenz saw me four times in 2 weeks, I added 3 more visits with another chiropractor and one therapeutic massage while I was traveling onward. But all in all, Dr Lohrenz helped me very well. He explained his evaluation and treatment process clearly, which I highly appreciate. His assistant and wife were both also very kind to me. now, four weeks later, I am still pain free and happy I can continue my travels!

Before going here I had never had chiropractic before and I must say this is one of the nuttiest things I have ever sat through. Sure the adjustments to my lower back helped loosen up a stuck SI joint, but the man thinks spinal adjustment will help with the most obscure conditions, something he calls subluxation, so he insisted my body was out of whack and adjusted everything. I am not sure if this is just him or something that's wrong with chiropractic as a whole. I then called to cancel my follow up and the receptionist, rather annoyed, urged me to reschedule because a "positive change had been made to my body." It just seemed cultish and weird. Don't think I'm gonna reschedule, will ramp up my stretching routine, and occasional massage, instead which also has effective results and makes positive changes to my body. I went in with an open mind and left wondering what kind of scam I had subjected myself to.

2 words: stay away!! I'm an engineer student at Dal. Like some of my fellow classmates, we experience a lot of neck pain, tension, lower back issues. Saw his ad and since his office is located nearby, I decided to give it a try.
Was it ever a mistake...
He could not care less about my issues...wants me in on a regular basis and talks and talks -about himself, mostly- and never really addressed the problem!
Students are an easy target it seems...
Told my friends to stay away and find someone else. Not worth my time or money.

I was Dr. Brad's first customer when he opened up shop in Halifax, and could still smell the fresh paint and drywall. I have visited several times for multiple adjustments and have never left his office without feeling much better than when I had entered. He walked me through every step in his procedures and the rationale behind them. Once, when I still felt discomfort after some adjustments and was about to leave he told me to come back in and promised that he would never let a patient leave if he still felt badly after treatment. This is a promise he has kept.
I have had varying experiences with chiropractors but of all that have treated me he is by far the best. He is passionate about what he does, personable, and very concerned about his patients. I have read some negative reviews and I have to set the record straight.
As for arrogance I have seen the opposite. He showed concern for me as a person and listened to all of my symptoms and complaints before treating me. His knowledge on the other hand is extensive, as he can explain in depth exactly what he is going to do and why he is doing it. He has accepted me on short or no notice several times and has never refused to help.
As to money concerns his practice is by far the easiest one to deal with. I have only had health insurance intermittently over the past 15 years and have always received the best of care. Dr. Lohrenz has charged less than any of the others. In fact he is so little concerned with money that on one occasion, when I forgot to pay and left his office, I called back to say I would return and apologized. He said this wasn't a concern and that I could pay next time I came. This was much appreciated as I travel almost two hours to get to his office. ( It is worth it.)This was an act of kindness and trust as I am hardly a "cash cow" having only two or three treatments a year, which I pay in cash. He had no guarantee of me paying, and showed no worry about it. (I paid.)
Finally, what I must contest is how "aggressive" or "painful" some have claimed his treatment to be. When I enter the office it is because I am already in discomfort, and I accept that some slight discomfort might be necessary to correct the issue. That being said I have never left his office not feeling a great deal better than when I had arrived. I have been to chiropractors that like to use wedges and pillows for repeated and repeated treatments and for me this doesn't work and is much more costly. Perhaps some of Dr. Brad's detractors prefer pillows and platitudes, but for me aggressive adjustments that treat the issue work much better and do not drag out the treatment.
I can honestly say that I cannot recall any other health care professional who has been as helpful and effective as Dr. Lohrenz, and I have recommended him to many of my friends and acquaintances, all of who have been pleased with his care.

not sure what to say about this guy but what I am certain of is that he is passionate about...himself!
Horrible bedside manners and his ego gets in the way of everything else...
Please, someone teach him some social skills!
I think he knows his stuff but because of all of the above, I am out!! Dr Katherine MacAdam is by far a better choice...
The only good thing about the clinic, is his secretary (Trudy or Judy cannot remember)!!
