I went to the Athabasca hospital palliative care to say goodbye to a dear friend. To say the least I was horrified and unprepared for what I saw and as a retired police officer I have seen a lot. My friend was laying there totally emancipated gasping for breath, his legs were rotting off You would never subject and animal to this degree of suffering. His doctor has done nothing to help end this suffering. Shame on You doctor Burger I hope you don’t have to die like this. I have no respect for you at all. Dale Clarke

Love Dr Burger. I've been seeing him for a few years now and he has always been so helpful. Always patient and never in a rush to get you out the door. He always gets to the bottom of things for me. I have nothing but good things to say about him. He has always been great to me.

Most recent experience was pain and sudden arm and leg strength with inability to get out of car, bed, tub etc. Blood work was done and within a couple days Dr Michael diagnosed polymyalgia, put me on prednisone and concerned go with symptom of an associated disease involving circulation had a specialist consultation that called that thanksgiving weekend and saw me Tuesday afternoon. Even cardiologist emphasized how fortunate and outstanding it was that my GP picked it up. Over the past 16 years as a patient, Dr Burger has shown the utmost professional respect and expertise. He does not hesitate to phone consult experts and spent one night on the phone in the Athabasca Trauma with experts at the Masankowski in Edmonton to bring down my blood pressure as normal emergency IVs protocols were not working. I tryst Dr Michael with my life and highly recommend him for yours.

Dad appreciated Dr. Berger's friendliness, care, compassion, honesty and knowledge.
While getting medical treatment and advice, Dad enjoyed swapping stories with the doctor.

Very professional and straight to the point without sugar coating anything, yet still very personable and likeable, he’s just an average guy with a family, who likes the outdoors, who just happens to be a doctor. In my opinion Dr. Micheal would probably succeed at any career that he chose, but he chose to be a healer, a doctor like that, that’s the one for me.

He's great when you can see him, but don't count on getting the staff to get a prescription filled and faxed to the pharmacy. They can't seem to get the doctor to fill out a simple form for you either (when you need it). Always have to call to double, triple and quadruple check that it's getting done because you could be waiting weeks (I've waited months).
