One of the finest doctors I've ever met. I have a red hair gene that is responsible for intraoperative awareness, and when I informed Dr. Imanaka about this, he immediately reassured me that he was aware of this phenomenon and would take all possible precautions and measures to assure himself and ascertain that I was adequately under anesthesia. I had no difficulties in working with him in this matter, unlike a number of anesthesiologists at Memorial Hospital who said that there was no such link between having red hair and intraoperative awareness.
