I had hernia repair surgery performed by Dr. Murphy in 2004. Was very pleased with procedure and my recovery was uneventful. Would not hestitate to recommend Dr. Murphy for your general surgery needs.

had carpal tunnel surgery in both hands within a sisth month period.Was always relaxed and felt as if I was in good hands,great to have no pain or numbness in hands .

Well after waiting for 3 years for a surgery date with a Halifax Ortho surgeon, I saw Dr. Murphy in Digby (he does surgery there as well as Yarmouth)and two months later was having day surgery. I was very happy with him. He was very professional, punctual (the procedure was actually started early),knowledgeable, and once the surgery was complete, he was talkative and humorous. I would recommend him to anyone (and have already). I would see him again in a heartbeat. Thanks Dr. Murphy!!! His OR staff were wonderful too. Thanks Wanda and Shelly!!

My experience with Dr. Murphy was very good - I was seen in outpatients -he came after a very busy day in surgery- I noticed how kind he was to the older patient next to me then he proceeded to do my minor surgery- very kind, knowledgeable and caring ..I would recommend him to anyone.

Had abdominal surgery. Had no contact with doctor after surgery. Saw him 4 weeks later. Was not given proper instructions and pain relief that was prescribed was Toradol which apparently can cause bleeding if used over 5 days. Was given a prescription for Toradol for 10 days. I quit using it the first day as I received no relief from it. The day surgery nurses (except for one) were rude and with a "I don't care" attitude. Would definetly not recommend day surgery at Yarmouth hospital with this Doctor as a surgeon. I felt like i was just another piece of meat. Good luck to anyone who uses this doctor as I will not recommend him nor use him again.
