This is a long review-but I want to explain the background of how I picked an OB/GYN and my experience with Dr. Robert Steer of Morristown.
When I was looking for an OB after I got married, a young mom gave me great advice. She said “Go find a male Obstetrician.” Her reasoning and experience had shown her that all the female doctors she had seen were less sympathetic to her (in her opinion because we all have to deal with the same issues & we’ve all been through it) but the male doctors she had seen were much more understanding and supportive because they will never be able to physically experience pregnancy and are much more sympathetic. Armed with that perspective, I did a web search for “Best OBGYN in Morristown” and Dr. Steer’s name came up a number of times. I liked that it wasn’t a huge practice-just him, and what solidified it for me was a review by former professional football player Tiki Barber and his wife. I figured that those guys don’t just go to ANY doctor, they are usually sent to the best, so I made an appointment for my new patient visit, and have been blown away by how amazing Dr. Steer is.
I had my first child at 35 and my second at 40. Throughout each awful pregnancy and subsequent visits and pap smears, I can confidently say that this is the ONLY OBGYN I would ever go to. He is non-judgmental, matter-of-fact and compassionate. When a serious issue came up towards the very end of my first pregnancy, he explained the risks involved and I chose to have a c-section delivery. I was terrified because of the stories you read and the negativity associated with cesarean births, but Dr. Steer made it the easiest, most effortless and natural experience I could ever hope for. In fact, it was so great that I was determined to NOT have a VBAC for my second child and was proud to deliver through a 2nd cesarian. Reflecting on these experiences, I honestly shudder to think of allowing any other doctor to deliver my babies.
You can bet that no other doctor will fight for what is right for you and your baby (or babies).

Terrible doctor.! Terrible practice.! I’ve been a patient for 13 years and was called 1 week before my annual exam and told that I’m no longer welcomed there. I don’t plan to have any more children and am no longer a viable patient. I can’t even get an appointment with a new doctor for another 4 months because of the short notice I received. Would have been nice to inform me back in November when I made the appointment! So disgusted with how I was treated and would never recommend this doctor ever again!

I switched to Dr. Steer partially through my pregnancy. It was the best decision I ever made. Dr. Steer and Sandra were extremely welcoming from the beginning. Sandra worked hard to help me get my records from my previous Dr. and Dr. Steer made me feel safe and comfortable through out the rest of my pregnancy. My husband and I could not be more thankful for our amazing son that Dr. Steer delivered for us. I had to have a c-section because our baby was breech and Dr. made the surgery easy and painless as possible. Thank you Dr. Steer and Sandra!!

I switched to Dr. steer in my last trimester and it was the beat decision I made!! He was always available to answer my questions and even when my baby decided to come out 4 weeks early, he was amazing keeping me calm and was made it a smooth labor and delivery for me. I would highly recommend him.

I switched to Dr. Steer in my 7th month of pregnancy after my friend and cousin recommended him. I was immediately relieved with his and Sandra's professionalism and care. It's a smaller office and they were able to give me the personalized attention I needed. I have complete confidence in Dr. Steer, which is hugely important when it came time to give birth. Everything went very smoothly and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be going back to Sandra and Dr. Steer and couldn't imagine going any where else! The entire staff at Morristown was extremely professional and helpful. I truly had a great experience!

I've been a patient of Dr. Steer's for close to 20 years. He delivered my healthy baby boy last year and I trust his expertise beyond anything. Sandra, who works in the office, is amazing and always kind and supportive. I have recommended him to many friends who now feel the same way as I do.

Dr. Steer is an amazing OBGYN . He is very knowledgeable and supportive. He makes sure you are aware of your options and comfortable . I will be choosing Dr Steer for my next pregnancy.
Also Sandra is the best and very kind . She made my maternity leave a breeze with the paperwork.
