Dr. Sussman is an excellent Doctor, I have been going to him since I was born. He is very knowledgeable and takes his job seriously. I was to Humber Hospital about and issue and the staff did nothing. I went to see Dr.Sussman the next day and he had tests scheduled and helped resolve it immediately. If you leave him because of waiting or his "pen and paper" method you're losing out. The way he does things works for him and I will continue to go to him as he is an excellent doctor and had always made me feel safe, comfortable and feel like i'm getting the best care possible. My whole family goes there and we will continue to do so.

Very shocked to see the negative reviews of Dr Jack Sussman. My daughter saw another Doctor in The Clinic that had diagnosed her wrong and Dr Sussman corrected it and spoke to the other Doctor Quickly. Yes the wait is long but he is a very good Doctor and he also delivered my youngest daughter and did a great job.

After much effort I found another family doctor. Hated to do that after many years but necessary. A few suggestions rather than complaining:
1) move into the 21st century and use computers. Everything is pen and paper and since the Doctor is very busy he needs to sort through a stack of papers and his own sketchy notes each time very quickly. A laptop with notes and quickly accessible specialist reports would be very helpful.
2) in this day and age folks will research their own symptoms. Many are well educated and able to understand complex situations. Speak with them intelligently and calmly.
3) it's pretty evident that the neighbourhood has not changed for the better. This has got to be frustrating for the doctor. Thus I would reco taking a few minutes every hour for a break. Have a smile and a drink of water. People will wait. When the doctor looks stressed, rushed and annoyed all the time it helps no one.
4) it's normal in business to rely on experience only as we get older but instead of fitting any symptom into a box of solutions be prepared to think outside the box sometimes. This will be easier with the short rest breaks mentioned above.

I've been a patient for 20 years. He has delivered 3 of my children saved me from a hysterectomy and countless illness for my family and I . Yes the wait is long but this isn't McDonald's, if u want a quick fix then there are clinics and hospitals to help u short term but what they are giving u my give u underlining issues later in life !
I was prescribed with medicine from a hospital and wanted to confirm it with dr. Sussman he urged me not to take it cause it will cause a side effect to something else I had!
Yes he's old school - he wants us to push our bodies to work the way god intended and when that fails he will give medicine (how can u blame someone for wanting this? ) when I come in to see him I come
in as a family so that's 5 of us! I live out of area and cannot offord to gamble with new doctors to find one with the same care. We wait for hours because it's worth the wait. I know that he's trying to help others . He may not be smiling the biggest smile walking in but do we know what he was dealing with in the next room ? No we don't . Must of the times we don't see the doctor when we are healthy , we unload every worry, fear and susperstecious beleif we have to them and they have to listen and filter through what they have just heard into what they suspect. I agree he needs to slow down but I also believe he wants to help everyone, so it's not in his nature to turn away patients or hurt anyone intentionally.

Dr. Jack Sussman is a very grouchy person, he gets agitated easily and very dismissive. The wait time is around 2 hours with an appointment and his visits are 15 minutes long. I believe he has his clients that he favors so not everyone will get the same treatment. He does not like to give referrals to see specialist. He is not compassionate or caring at all.

I've been going to Dr Sussman for 40 years, it says something about a Dr. when you have to wait to see him, it means that people think he is worth the wait and he is. My father is also a patient of his and he is always on top of everything with my Dad I swear Dr Sussman is the reason my father is still alive. Dr. Sussman doesn't just hand out medication you have to be sick to receive it he's a doctor not a drug dealer so everyone complaining about not getting meds think about it. I have never felt rushed out by him he listens to what the issues are and examines you and gives you the proper treatment for whatever ails you. He is a great doctor and if you're lucky enough to have him as a doctor then you should be thankful. The staff from the desk to the nurses are friendly and caring and always smiling. I feel very blessed to have such an amazing team looking after my family. Thank you to all of them.

Very long wait. Staff take non emergency, walk-ins and push them to front of the line. Expect a 2-3 hour wait. Staff are very rude, lots of eye rolling. I suspect the people who have given glowing reviews are those who have gone to the front of the line, while other genuinely sick people have had to wait hours, when they were decent enough to book appointments. Doctor is dismissive, so you'll NEED to be persistent. He knows stuff, but he can't diagnose you if he won't examine you. I advise all women to check themselves for various cancers, don't count on this doctor to find it for you. Insist on seeing a specialist. Check your meds carefully before you take them to make sure it's the right medicine for your condition, and that it doesn't conflict with the meds you take. If you don't mind the staff, between your vigilance and the doctor (do your research), you should be okay. Jack is smart, its just getting him to check you. He can make mistakes. Maybe it has more to do with his staff over booking patients? Very scattered at times, and always rushing. Will try and rush you out. I am trying to find another doctor, but in the current city climate, and doctor shortage...lets face it clinics operate exactly as Sussmans office is currently operating. Why would anyone go to it, as another person suggested on their glowing review?

I've seen Dr Sussman a 3 times for 8am appointments, and all of them had me waiting 1.5hrs, and then put in another room separately for another 15min!! What?? He is extremely dismissive about all of my issues to the point where I feel I must defend myself for having the nerve to complain. Most people don't like coming to the doctor anyway, nevermind feeling discouraged about whatever ails them! I understand he has many clients, but what is the point of being so dismissive like that???

If you don't have the time or energy remaining to really get to the bottom of a patient's problems, either retire or stop accepting new clients and walk ins.

Long wait times and there is always a lot of people waiting but that must tell you something about him if all these people are willing to wait when there's a walk in clinic a block away. Overall great doctor and great guy. Very knowledgable. Staff are great and lab the medical building offers a lot of other medical areas too
