Extremely unprofessional practice. Dr Der didn’t consider my medical conditions while completing dentistry and didn’t implement CDSA standards whatsoever. To that end, he completed two crowns that broke off and failed right away. He has refused to revers the claim and refund me my portion of this cost, since April 12 2021. It’s already April 2024 and this is still ongoing. I just saw another dentist to extract that tooth and provide an implant (as another crown wasn’t possible). This means that dr Der, stole the origin $1200+, $200 for extraction and $2000 for the implant cost.

Don’t permit Dr Der to steal your smile.

I was a patient of Dr Der’s for several years, up until recently. He did a root canal, and I still had bad pain a few months later. I went to see him afterwards a few times and I told him the pain I had and I was wondering if I had an infection. He wouldn’t even look in my mouth, he just told me to take some ibuprofen and he referred me to an endodontist. He has no empathy and I told him I couldn’t take ibuprofen because it hurts my stomach, and all he said was “ well I don’t know what I’m supposed to do about it- you’ll just have to wait and see the specialist.” We don’t let animals suffer with pain, yet I left that office and had to end up going to the hospital to get antibiotics and pain meds, as it would be a few weeks before I could get into see the specialist to fix my failed root canal. Since I had reached my maximum on my dental insurance I will have to pay over $2100.00 and that doesn’t include to crown I will need ( another $1300.00 approximately) This is completely unethical and unacceptable in my opinion. It’s all about the money, which most of us don’t have a lot of to pay out of pocket for someone else’s mistake.

I broke a tooth before Christmas. I called Sylvan Smiles and Dr. Der was able to see me. He measured me for the crown and within a week my permanent crown was in place. I was and am very happy with the kind and quick service I got. Thank you Dr. Der and the team at Sylvan Smiles.

After wearing a night guard for 20 years I needed a replacement. I tried to get a night guard appliance from Dr. Der which was the first major dental issue that required addressing at this clinic. One version that came back was so loose it wouldn’t stay in my mouth. I was a little nervous about swallowing it. The another one that came back was so large I couldn’t close my mouth around it. Now these things do happen, but his reaction the most shocking. He basically refused to fix the issue and when I asked what I should do about the dental appliance he suggested that I find a new Dentist in the phone book. Since I really liked the fantastic hygienist and the front staff was pretty sympathetic I transferred to a colleague in the same clinic. Unfortunately by this time the dental appliance had been reworked so many times it broke apart shortly after the warranty expired. Currently, I wear my old appliance.

My daughter was recently in to see Dr.Der. Everything went very well, my kids like him fine. ,y problem was that he was wearing sweatpants! Not even nice ones. Gross, too toght, light grey mix sweats. At a price of $800 for the procedure done in 45 minutes, you'd think the guy could afford some better pants! Just totally turned me off of Bower Dental and the professionalism level there.

Dr. Der is very helpful, reliable, and kind. He really makes sure to take the time to ask his patients how they are doing, and make sure they're okay.
