Dr J Awad has moved and it’s been 2 years and we are trying to find a replacement but the reality is, she was the best Dr. I ever had the privilege to know. She was kind, smart, respectful and dedicated to her patients. I miss her very much

i have seen dr. awad since 2009, words can not explain how good this dr. is long story short she basically saved my life, by ordering tests to determine why my blood levels were low, and sending me to cancer care manitoba, to verify results against , what i thought was a waste of time , her instincts were right , i had a rare form of blood cancer, called waldenstroms , i was taken into the system at ccmb and treated, follow up with dr. awad she noticed my psa levels were elevated, and with internal exam everything seemed normal, but this did not seem right with her she sent me to a urologist who after taking test and biopists, found i had prostate cancer, it was high grade high volume diease , i was was treated, and today i am still alive,

I enjoyed this doctor for approximately 10 years. I am not much for taking medication. She heard me and worked with me for alternatives. I did not find her judgemental. More importantly I found her caring and a kind human being who was a physician that served me well. I wish her the best in Ontario. Unfortunately, now to look for another. Ugh. 😀

Jaklin Awad was the doctor for various members of my family and friends in Winnipeg. Yes, she’s sweet and quiet and seems to be interested in you. It may be honest, I don’t know. But she certainly hasn’t the knowledge nor the backbone to get people what they need to be healed. She was ineffective and passive with my husband’s pain from work related injuries. She was completely silent when we needed someone with a bigger voice or more authority than us to find solutions and demand help. She patted our hands and asked how we felt emotionally for years, but was useless otherwise. We finally refused to give her anymore income through our ‘business’, as did friends who also were frustrated by her, and have gone without a family doctor for years since. Shame on us for waiting so long to make our stand, but doctors who will take couples are rare in this city, apparently there is a shortage of doctors, though with experience under our belts we believe it is a shortage of competent physicians that Winnipeg is ill with. I am absolutely sick of people taking an oath to heal and protect their patients who are too weak and passive to do so, and watching them get paid large sums of money to be so. I refuse to believe that she is completely without compassion but she certainly never demonstrated any ability to fix anything medical nor even the sense to refer properly.
I understand she has moved back to Toronto and I wanted to ensure people there don’t believe there is more depth than the facade.

Dr Awad is the best doctor I have had the pleasure of getting to know. She is caring and compassionate and thoughtful, respectful. I am going to miss her very much. She helped me and my husband through a very bad sickness and I am forever grateful for her. You will be missed by many, good luck and all the best.

She was a very good dr! She got me referrals when needed, and very personable and genuinely cared. I will miss having her as my dr! (She moved to Ontario) punctuality is rated low because I just didn’t like the hour wait time to see her.

Dr. Awad was my GP for at least ten years. I saw her on a regular basis and will miss her very much. She always asked how I was and addressed any additional concerns I had in the same appointment, rather than ask me to make a new appointment. I did not often have to wait very long for my appointment, especially when I booked in the morning. She was very thorough, understanding, caring and non-judgmental. It'll be hard to find a doctor to replace her! Best wishes, Dr. Awad!

She has been the most caring, respectful and kind family doctor Ive had and I will miss her a great deal. She and her assistant Linda have been so accommodating and wonderful.

Dr Awad has been my doctor for close to ten years. She truly cares about her patients and has always put me at ease with her knowledge and gentle manner. I will miss her dearly.
