I have been a patient of Dr Mather for about 19 years now and I can tell you that there is no other physician as caring, intelligent, and accommodating as her and her staff! Dr. Mather goes the extra mile for all her patients to advocate for them and make sure they do not slip through the cracks of a broken system. There is no one who can fill her shoes upon retirement even though she fully deserves to after her years of dedication to her patients. I have heard from many friends and family how difficult it is to get an appointment with their family doctor for something as simple as a sore throat or a sick child but even last week I was able to get in same day for a fever and cough thanks to Dr. Mather and her staff. My family will truly miss her and she has set the bar extremely high for any other doctor who attempts to fill her void.

Our family has been under Dr. Mather's care since her arrival in Petrolia. We have had amazing care through all the regular family issues, a traumatic death in the family, a cancer journey and most lately a very BAD experience with sepsis infection following a anteral hip replacement and revision , done in Sarnia's Bluewater Health. Dr. Mather followed up with my care when the orthopedic surgeon refused to listen to our concerns about the swelling, drainage, fevers and pain. She was honest enough to inform us of the fracture to my femur that was a major hinderance to my recovery & worked feverishly to get help in London. One year and 2 more surgeries later, she has continued to caring monitor my health and moving our family on to wellness. Thank you Dr. Mather, you are the best!

Best down to earth, realistic doctor. I never feel rushed when discussing my symptoms- if anything she probes to discover anything I may not be thinking of at the time- incredibly helpful! Whenever I call, they get me in right away, same day if my symptoms are causing any kind of interruptions in my daily activities. Cares as much about physical concerns as she does emotional ones, and is certainly a wealth of knowledge when it comes to recommendations in both areas. I am incredibly happy to have Dr. Mather as my family doctor, and truly hope that if she ever retires (which I truly hope isn't anytime soon) she makes sure the next doctor to come in, shares the same values in patient care as she does!

Dr. Mather was my Family Doctor. At the time, I was experiencing pain, nausea, weight loss, and fatigue. I was young, so she disregarded my symptoms and told me that I was too young to have anything wrong with me, and that it was all in my head. If I would go to her office when I was experiencing my sickness, her staff would treat me rudely with zero compassion. My mother came with me to all of my appointments. At one, my mother expressed her concern over how sick I was. Dr. Mather told her that it wasn't her appointment, and shut my mother down. Dr. Mather subscribes to medical paternalism and is one of the most paternalistic doctors I have ever seen (which is saying a lot considering the amount of doctors I have seen now). Even worse is that if she is unsure, instead of admitting she is unsure, she will blame the patient. All in all one of the worst doctors I have seen. I am sure she is ok if you have a "textbook" health problem, but once she has to think outside of the box she is inept.
