I went to Dr Franklin several years ago because I was having severe bleeding from fibroids. She told me the problem could be solved with a ‘simple’ new procedure but it could only be done if I agreed to have a tubal ligation at the same time. Apparently pregnancy after this procedure would have been dangerous. I was so desperate for relief I agreed. I went in for outpatient surgery. When I awoke, Dr Franklin told me she had been unable to do the procedure because my condition was too severe. What she neglected to tell me is that she had gone ahead and tied my tubes anyway. I was devastated. Had I been thinking more clearly I would have filed a malpractice complaint against her. Instead, I just switched practices and doctors. I still get emotional thinking about it to this day.

I'm very surprised to read some of these review, as I couldn't have had a better experience with this doctor. If I were able to rate the office staff as excellent, I would. The office setting and staff was very friendly and put you at ease right away. The doctors and nurses do an excellent job making sure you're able to keep as much modesty as possible, which is always difficult for OBGYN appointments. I will definitely be returning to this office, and have already recommended Dr. Franklin to several of my friends.

I had the displeasure of an appointment with Dr. Franklin of Perfectly Female today. I went in at 8 weeks of pregnancy with spotting and was alarmed since I had just experienced a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy. This woman walked in without introduction, spoke with her back to me (I asked her to repeat herself numerous times as I could not understand her mumbling)and questioned whether my pregnancy had been confirmed. Apparently, unbeknownst to her, she was the doctor who reviewed my beta test and ultrasound results and who also failed to notify me that a subchorionic bleed was detected on an early ultrasound 2 weeks prior. All this information would have been helpful to know at the same time they did. Instead, she spat it at me as though I was an idiot to be concerned about the welfare of my pregnancy. Needless to say, my next appointment will be elsewhere.

Dr. Franklin gave me very brusque, one-word answers to my questions. She also walked out of the exam room while I was mid-sentence and never came back. I'm not someone that needs a warm fuzzy bedside manner, but this was ridiculous. Additionally, I was given incorrect test results - they told me I had chlamydia and it turned out to just be beta strep. That's a pretty big mistake to make, and caused me quite a bit of panic. I will never be going back.

Dr. Franklin has joined Perfectly Female (Reston & Ashburn). I saw her for the 1st time when I was 8 wks preg. The appt was a complete waste of time. I waited in a freezing exam room for at least 30min and when she did arrive she didn't even bother to ask how I'm feeling or if I have any questions. She has no bedside manner, she acts like you're imposing on her very valuable time, and actually laughs at your questions. She didn't explain anything she was doing, didn't point out what I was seeing on the sonogram--I had to ask the nurse where the baby was on the sono after she left. I left the appt livid that I decided to give them a 2nd chance as I was unhappy with this practice with my last preg. The whole practice is bad, I will not be having any more children with them.

I have gone to her for a few years for annual exams. I have always felt like I was interfering with something more important, and my annual exam was a waste of time. Now that I am trying to conceive I will find a doctor who actually cares.

This Dr. gave me incorrect information regarding my breast biopsy results. I left the office extremely alarmed, and when I met with an oncologist I found out that she was wrong. She should have just told me my results and it is not her area of expertise to diagnose cancer treatment. This was not the first time she unnecessarily frightened me.My comments would be too long! She is fine if you have no health problems, as I did for years, but if you do, she is not capable of handling medical problems. She is not very smart or compassionate. I have never met a Dr. I like less. Her staff also has caused me difficulties as they do not send in paperwork to the insurance companies and I have to keep calling them to remind them. She is just fine, though, if all you need is an annual pap smear and mammogram!!!

i wish i read reviews about dr franklin before going to this practice. she told me i was due dec 17 2008 with my daughter. i kept going in because i was having contractions and my daughter was already a big baby. she just kept sending me home. i went in on dec 4 and i told her my contractions are 7 mins apart and she didn't believe me, nurse sasner was in the room with me and felt a contraction. she told franklin that indeed i am contracting and already dialated. she just said let me go home. at night my husband had to rush me to the hospital because my contractions were about 2-3 mins apart. as soon as i went in, i was sent to have a c-section, where my water broke while they were giving my the epidural. also they found out that my baby was under stress. if you go to the reston office, stop next door st. 310, dr barrett, is very nice, she was the dr on call that night when my daughter was born.

I have had Dr. Franklin for much of my prenatal care. I go early to avoid delays, but she still takes her time getting to me. She spends as little time as possible in the room. Takes Heartbeat, does internal, and leaves. Doesn't ask if I have any questions, its obvious she doesn't remember me (weekly), read my chart, or is even familiar w/ the stage of pregnancy I am in. She's friendly, in a distant and condescending sort of manner. Treats me like a child, though I am close to 30. Laughs off my concerns. Assumes the worst (that I'll need an induction). I pray every day that when I deliver (due in 3 days) that she is not the one attending. I think she's heartless and lacks compassion or care. If I had known earlier what I know now, I would have switched practices. She shouldn't be a Dr., she doesn't seem to care about people. Needs sensitivity training.
