Her service sucks. I'm leaving a review after horrific care. And actually many years after the fact.

DUMP HER!

I had a fever of 106 and a sore throat, it hurt to breathe. I called for an appointment and was told that the earliest I could get in to see her was the following week. I hung up. I was really sick.

Not to sure what happened next, but my ex husband took me in to see her.

She dismissed everything I had to say, listened to my chest and told me it sounded clear, looked down my throat and said that while it was red, it didn't have pustules.

She was a *****.

And then she took my temperature. She told me to lie down. It was 106; 2 hours after taking Ibuprofen.

She sent us across the street to RGH for blood work and a chest x-ray. The ex carried me and I laid down on the floor of the lab, I just didn't give a damn.

15 minutes on our way home, we received a phone call that I had a typical pneumonia and a typical strep throat.

I should have been in the hospital, but because there was a nursing shortage, she though it would be best if I stayed home and my mom were to look after me. My mom is an RN.

I lost 30 lbs., I couldn't eat or drink.

I was sick for 1 month. I had a respite after the first 2 weeks of antibiotics, but within 24 hours both the strep and pneumonia were back.

It was another 2 weeks before I healed.

Shall we talk about the misdiagnosis of my sons?

HORRIBLE!

This doctor works about 2 days a week. She also takes long leaves of absenses and holidays. Last year or the year before she was gone for over 6 months. Every time I have gone to the doctor in the last several years, I usually end up seeing another doctor. Linda is extremely rude and you can tell just does not want to be there. I look forward to the day that Linda retires.

Dr. Duncan is a practical and patient listener. We love her and feel lucky to have such a professional and knowledgeable family doctor! I've been going to that office for nearly 4 decades now (Dr. Watts before Dr. Duncan). Top notch!

I truly feel fortunate to have Dr. Duncan as my family doctor. It's hard enough to find a family doctor, let alone find one you can trust and who is knowledgeable. Over the years I have seen Dr. Duncan for a myriad of 'challenges' from chronic pain, to feminine issues. Every time I'm amazed at how knowledgeable she is with such diverse issues. I've never stumped her, although I've stumped many other doctors. And I also love that she is incredibly punctual! I've never had a doctor I didn't have to wait for a minimum 30 minutes. I realize we're limited to 2 issues per visit, which sometimes can be challenging if you're commuting a bit of a distance to see her, but she respects her appointments and wants to keep everyone's time on track. I do sometime wish she would take more time in the office, but she is very efficient because she is so knowledgeable and is able to assess your situation very quickly. She knows when you need to see a specialist and when she is able to help. There is no ego and I love it. Like others, I dread the day she retires. I know I will never find another family doctor like her.

STAFF IS SUPER RUDE. The MOA should learn some manners on how to communicate with people.

I wrote a rating on Nov 14, 2016 wrto Dr Duncan and a visit.
My rating was based on 1 visit basically & I over reacted as I was very upset. The minute I pressed send I regretted doing it but I wasn't thinking straight.
I tried to remove it after a 'cooling off period' & am unable to do so.

So, I'm now rating Dr Duncan again based on the 30+ years that she tended to my needs as a GP. I just want to make things right as she continues to run her practice.

Overall she is a great Dr.
I've had several surgeries & she had always gone out of her way to make sure I had the right treatment & follow up to mend. She knows her stuff & I trusted her with my health over the 30+ years that she tended to my medical needs. She was there for my kids from babies & as they grew to be adults. Her attention to detail is amazing.
I just wanted to make things right as I was very angry when I wrote the rating a month ago. I guess I knew what I was doing but didn't really think I couldn't ever remove it.
If I've caused anyone to think that Dr Duncan isn't a great Dr I apologize.
I'm not sure if she's taking in new patients but if she is & she takes you in then you've basically hit the jackpot.
Her treatment of you will be complete from start to finish.
Dr Duncan thank you for you medical knowledge over the past 30+ years & I wish you the best.
Sincerely I do.
I know your patients will be devastated the day you retire!

Dr Duncan had been my doctor for over 30 years.
I have many issues & needed her to prescribe lots of meds. Unfortunately the meds prescribed were at different times so if I went to see her about another matter she counted the prescription as one matter so we never really got to the other issues.
Recently I was going away & requested something stronger in case I had a flare up. You think I was asking for the moon! She replied that she wasn't having that conversation & left the examining room. Needless to say she didn't fill my prescription. So I asked Linda to book me for another appointment to obtain a prescription.
When I had that next appointment Dr Duncan advised me that I needed to request my prescriptions first before any other matter. Now please, who goes to a Dr and gets a prescription BEFORE the consult??
I asked if we could discuss the matter for something stronger if I had a flare up travelling. She said she was tired & only had a few hours of sleep & didn't want to discuss that matter. I basically said I didn't care how much sleep she had. That's not my business & in my opinion very unprofessional for her to not want to discuss a time sensitive matter during my time or my appointment.
She again walked out of the examining room. She told me Linda would give me my prescription. I didn't leave the examining room as I was stunned. What just happened? Since when can't a patient have a conversation about a stressful matter?
She eventually opened the door & I had to practically beg her to have a conversation with me.
It's not like I wanted a full bottle of pills. Just a few if I had a flare up. She finally came up with a Med that I had taken in the past. She said that should work. I said ok let's hope so & thank you very much. I almost wanted to hug her cuz the issue was over.
Tell me why she didn't suggest that in the first place?? It would have saved her & I the time & emotions.
A few weeks after my return I get a letter from Dr Duncan 'letting me go over "patient/doctor trust & respect."'

Well, after 30 years of giving my trust & respect to her ask me after that lame excuse if I have any for her!! Zilch!

I have family members that still see her & I'm almost afraid she'll take things out on them. I sure hope not. These are lives that she is dealing with.

I see a psychiatrist & I'm trying everything I can to get better. I just don't understand how a Dr can play with you like that. I'm the one that's sick; she's the one that should be professional.
Why didn't she sit & listen to begin with rather than running out the door pretty much with her hands over her ears. If she took that time to listen I'd still have a Dr & maybe I wouldn't have gone backwards!!
Thanks a lot Dr Duncan!! Way to treat a patient!
BTW **Linda the MO is very nice, respectful & always professional!!

Not helpful with regards to mental health issues. She really struggled to understand and had very little time or energy to devote to learning about my condition and really LISTENING. Gave advice and interrupted in a rude way multiple times.

I am sure she is fine for physical issues but my mental health / anxiety / stress issues were downplayed and actually negated. I am disappointed in her care for me. I find it stressful to have to disclose personal information to her. She is not trustworthy in my opinion- very headstrong and closed minded. Not patient enough for a more difficult client like myself I suppose.... poor knowledge with regards to current evidence-based practice for Mental Health. It is too bad.

I have been going to Dr Duncan for 30 years and have never considered going to anyone else. She makes me comfortable when I'm there and is always ready with little chit chat to put me at ease. I recommend her highly.
