Arturo Chayet, MD, is one of the finest and most experienced corneal eye surgeons in the world, as well as an incredible genuine one-of-a-kind person. Fortunately, for those that live in Southern California, his beautiful/incredible 4 story clinic (which always has had the latest and most technically advanced equipment, including the Swiss Ziemer laser (the only one in this hemisphere of the earth) which is straight out of the future (22nd century), is an easy 5-minute ride across the US border in San Diego.

Each doctor’s visit is a breeze as he has a nice private luxury clinic van pick me up and return me across the border. He has provided me with steady conservative care for a very complicated corneal eye problem for over 20 years. He just did a corneal transplant and early on my vision is 20/30. The continued care, attention to detail, facility, and staff, are outstanding. I could and would have traveled to any other doctor in the world to get this surgery as I need to be able to see to do my job as an attorney.

There’s not one single doctor that has the surgical technical ability and skill like Dr. Chayet. Many experienced eye surgeons refer their toughest surgical cases to Dr. Chayet. Additionally, Dr. Chayet enjoys the respect and admiration of prominent eye surgeons from all over the world, from UCSF medical school (the number 1 medical school in the USA), the Mayo Clinic, Shiley Eye Clinic, UCLA, Harvard, Stanford, China, and Japan (just look around his beautiful office to see beautiful letters and other evidence of all the professional lectures he has given). Dr. Chayet is in demand on the worldwide professional surgical lecture circuit, because of his unique experience in this difficult and tricky area of medicine.

Indeed, I referred an attorney colleague of mine to him many years ago for corrective eye surgery. Why? Because he offered the best most conservative surgical advice combined with the very latest in LASIK (and other techniques), and yes, some people are not LASIK candidates, such as my friend (his corneal was too thin), so he did an alternative much safer procedure with 20/15 results. I run into friends, family (even my legal assistant's mother) who, not knowing one another, have all, enjoyed excellent vision care and surgery from Dr. Chayet.

The 4th floor of the clinic is a large teaching auditorium named after Dr. Chayet's father, an eye surgeon, too, which is dedicated to teaching other surgeons, and he has Fellows (a few lucky carefully chosen eye surgeons from prominent universities from around the world) learning and absorbing as much as they can.

I am now 61 years old, and will soon will need cataract surgery, and will ONLY consider Dr. Chayet (indeed, prominent eye surgeons refer their toughest cases to Dr. Chayet). If you are reading this and researching and wondering the best solution for a loved one or yourself, you have found it! Michael Pines, Pines Salomon Injury Lawyers, APC, San Diego, California

I am a 63 year old male. I have been wearing glasses for 20 years, I was referred to Dr Chayet by a friend. He recommended lens implants, I went ahead with the lens replacement surgery. What a mistake. My vision is worst. I still need to get glasses. And now am in the process of having the implants removed. He has made my life miserable.

I had refractive lens surgery with Dr. Chayet in Tijuana. He and most of his staff spoke excellent English. There was very little wait time for each of my appts. The staff was great, especially Rosie who was my nurse that administered the IV and stayed with you while you were waiting for surgery. The staff seemed extremely knowledgeable. The surgery has been a success and I no longer wear glasses for reading or distance.
