TIME TO RETIRE. Merth is never available when needed. Three weeks to get an appointment. Doesn't make referrals to specialists. Hasn't kept up with the latest medical information. Doesn't take new patients (clients) -- thank God!

My mother and I have been patients of Dr. Merth ever since he opened his practice (about 30 years) and he is the most caring, thoughtful and kind doctor I have ever known, At one time I thought I would like a woman doctor and switched but she turned out to be a disaster and when I asked to return to Doctor Merth, he kindly took me back and I would never go to anyone else again. He is very careful about handing out prescriptions unless warranted. When I had an illness and he couldn't diagnose it, he sent me to several specialists until I was diagnosed. I am very grateful to him for following up each time because if he didn't, I likely would not be here today. When I need to see him on an urgent basis and he isn't available, the receptionist always fits me in with another doctor which is okay. He went above and beyond in the care of my mother and even came to the hospital to see her. I have absolutely no negatives with him or any other doctor in his office.Now that he has moved his office to a new location at the Superstore, there is always lots of parking.

both a wonderful Dr., and Kind human, very humble and down to earth, but with a ton of knowledge, he is very thoughtful and has a human touch to his practise I have not seen with other MD's.

The best ever, has been very good with helping me out. If you need to see him you may have days till he has a opening. But worth the waiting time, his bedside manner is the best and shows concern over your health issues. I am so happy to have him as my family doctor.

He always gave me the impression that he was uncomfortable discussing my medical issues. He didn't refer to me Specialists when it was needed. With regard to prostate cancer detection, he refused to blood test my PSA level, saying that there were too many false positive results; however, he did not do a DRE instead. Rather than perform preventive medical procedures, he waits until one is in hospital and his patients think that he is so caring because he visits them in hospital. If he did his job, his patients would not have ended up in hospital in the first place.

Dr Merth has always been very attentive to all my health concerns. He is prudent with his dispensing of drugs and gives me all options when discussing treatment. The staff seems better these days. I think when he is backed up something serious has come up and he needs to deal with it, not push a patient out the door on the 15 min mark. this is an indicator of a great Doctor!

He prescribed 3 times the maximum dose of a drug for six years to me, and I am now permanently injured by this overdosage due to his incompetence--if I had the money I would sue for malpractice. He was my doctor for six years.
